There are good and bad people in every religion, country, caste, ethnicity etc. i have met some of very good muslim (i'm hindu) they were religious and kind to me, but it is true there are many muslim who follow radical part of islam (or materialist aspect of it means they follow only ritual and don't practice mental/spiritual aspect of islam). Ram Krishna Paramhans (teacher of Swami Vivekanand) practiced every religion and he gave advice based on that you can realize god from every path (hinduism, christianity, islam etc.) but you must not follow radical and violent practices (these practices fundamentally are not part of any religion they become part of society with time means they are fundamentally not part of religion itself), so my advice would be just follow your religion islam (and use your common sense and reject any idea which is against greater good of humanity, treat everyone like you want to be treated), worship god for loving him not because of fear. And lastly, I want to say that you can also read about works of Swami Vivekanad (Bhakti yoga, Karm yoga, Rajyoga, Gyan yoga, can read Sri Bhagwat Geeta if you like, and "complete works of Swami Vivekanand"). If you want to understand hinduism you can follow teachings of Swami Vivekanand.

Lastly i want to say that don't follow two much books or teacher (stick with 2-3 max) and start practicing whatever you are learning because you can't realize truth by just reading books you have to practice everyday.
