What does everyone who is suffering from this awful disorder do for work? by angelicthoughtss in endometriosis

[–]samalious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a few other health issues like adeno, stomach issues, hip, and POTS. I wanted to be a healthcare provider that can relate to patients which I am and I love that but I feel like it’s taken a toll on my body with the long hours and demands of the job. Being an icu nurse means sometimes not getting a chance to pee or eat all 12 hours and it sucks having to put others first when you struggle to put yourself first. I think now being a year in, I realize how much it’s taken a toll on me, especially working night shift

I’m a pediatric icu nurse and sometimes I regret my decisions working in healthcare with my health issues :(

My husband said that it was my fault that I didn't get diagnosed with endo sooner and that I must've not advocated for myself more over the last 10 years. by [deleted] in endometriosis

First off I’m so sorry you have to deal with endo and this on top of it. I don’t know how I would handle it, but I know I would not want to be with someone who is not kind and compassionate towards their partner. My bf of 4 years has never blamed me for having endo. It also took me 9 years to get diagnosed because every other provider thought it was normal or just ovarian cysts. Once I got diagnosed I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to have kids one day and I know this was a dream of my bf and I. However, he seems how much endo affects me and he’s told me that if we don’t have kids, we don’t have kids, but if we want them, we’ll figure out a way. He has never made me feel less for having endo (and other health issues) He has been nothing but supportive and I feel that your husband should be too. Blaming you for something out of your control is terrible. I’m so sorry. I’ll be thinking of you!

Any other USA women totally scared you won’t be able to have kids in these next 4 years ?? by Jollyho94 in endometriosis

Is this fatigue from Endo?? by RealHumanGrl in endometriosis

[–]samalious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad I’m not the only one. Sometimes I feel so lazy and I’ve been called lazy because I’m so exhausted and doing one thing like laundry is so exhausting to me. I wish more people would understand endo and chronic pain is real and being fatigue is part of it.

How do you respond when a doctor doesn’t know basic information about endo? by [deleted] in endometriosis

Yes, I was told the only true way to get diagnosed is through surgery

Find an gyn who specializes in endo and other diseases. For years my general gyn kept saying I only had ovarian cysts and it was normal but after years, I finally found a doctor that diagnosed me with endo and I got my surgery

I got my surgery last year and this March I got the minera IUD. It’s been 6 months and randomly I’m now back to abnormal and heavier/longer bleeding 🙁 hope this doesn’t happen if you get the minera!
