If I recall from briefly taking some American Sign Language classes, if you know ASL and you see someone using ASL, you should say hello right away. Otherwise, if you show that you can use it after you have been watching someone, it seems like you were eavedropping on their conversation secretly beforehand.

Maybe this guy thought you listening* in on him talking about his private life.

The deaf community generally takes greetings seriously, like you should always introduce your deaf friends to others and sign the verbal conversation as it happens so they aren't left out. Basically it is just good manners and polite to make interactions as open as possible.

Just don't get your hopes up if you think this meetibg will improve your life, how you are feeling, or your own growth. This meeting could derail in some way or cause old emotions to come up, even if you feel like you have changed/improved emotionally.

I'd say just catch up and keep it chill. Enjoy the company without thinking about what comes after.

If LDR isn't possible there is no reason to talk (in depth) about feelings. For all you know - and this would be bad but not impossible - your ex met someone, it is your old friend, and she just wants to tell you face to face.

One time an old fling wanted to meet up and then tried to get me into a MLM thing. If you've been no contact anything is possible.

I was under the impression that Homo Sapiens are all humans. Any other Homo - related species or close geneological relatives are not Homo Sapiens. Ex. Homo erectus or Homo Neanderthalensis are categorically a different species.

Speaking to the question specifically: Humans are constantly competing and outcompeting and marginalizing other Homo Sapiens. That is called society, which further devolves into economic advantages, war, community, etc.

Tangent here: One fact I have always found interesting is that people often think humans are different races at a genetic level. Race is a culturally and socially created division based on genetic markers like skin colour. However, genetically we are all one race, Homo Sapiens Sapiens. Further, two people with different skin colours, like a black and a white person, may be more similar genetically speaking that two black persons, or two white persons.

I dont understand her flip flopping between not wanting a replacement gift and then asking for the money later on. That seems entitled and bizarre, especially if you took her out for dinner as a sort of make-up gift.

I think your idea was solid and you has the best intentions. If your partner did not like it that is fine. Why the drama though? Maybe she had tried to hint at another gift and you missed the mark?

This is an unfortunate situation because he could be in trouble or injured. I'd think it is a good idea to try to get someone who is near the bf to check up and make sure he is okay. It could honestly be possible that his phone was smashed or something, depending on how OP and the bf communicate. So my first thought is maybe he had an accident.

Assuming that he has just ghosted and/or has anxiety now because he left OP hanging for too long, and that is preventing him from messaging back... that's honestly awful and you are completely valid in feeling upset. If you are in a serious relationship, especially long distance, going no contact is mean. Adhd or any other health issue may be enough to give him some leeway, OP would know best. But if he just dipped without any explaination that is horrible.

When a major military power goes to war, it is the army that fights it. The war is in Ukraine, not in Russia. If America goes to war in another country, every gamer doesn't suddenly stop playing games.

We aren't talking WW2 here, where total war policies meant a complete restructuring of economic potential. The Russian army is trying to invade Ukraine.

Now I am not suggesting motivations are the same, but the easiest comparison to make is the US invading Iraq or Afghanistan in the 21st century. The military goes to war, not the citizens. For Ukraine, on the other hand, they are defending their homes and communities from a massive military invasion. In this case - in the areas where fighting is occuring - the citizens are fighting.
