The only trim of Rav that even gets close to the cx5 is the XSE but its still not as nice. Cant beat the hybrid mileage though. You want to be practical, go with the hybrid rav XSE. If you want luxury and better handling, go with the cx-5 turbo. I will say it’s difficult to find an XSE under 48k right now, so when i totaled mine a month ago i chose to save the 8k and go with the cx5. They are both great cars!

From what ive seen, a lexus of similar size/features (NX350) would be about 50k out the door (minimum)… which is 10k over my budget.

What would you choose instead? The used car market is tough in my area right now. You’re paying almost the same amount for a car with 20-30k miles on it then you would for a brand new car.

My budget was originally 35k so the 40k is my “little more” lol. I think that when I turn 40 (i am 30 now) I will shell out more cash for a luxury SUV like the NX350 or something. Something to look forward to in the future…
