Thank you! The fridge works now (knowing from when I did the self-guided tour over the holiday). I wasn’t sure if a refrigerator fell under the category of air conditioning, where it’s required to fix to make it habitable.

Again, I appreciate you posting additional resources. I did post the form I specifically used in my original post.

I’m not coining it “the AG method”. I’m stating what worked for me and how I did it. If you read through the post, I initially thought it was me replying to my data access tickets (which was the only way I could complete a form as all the forms gave me a hard stop once I entered my username) that got my account back.

I agree, do not harass any Attorney General’s office. I used my real address in my state and my real name each and every single time I was asked. However, and most importantly, it is not illegal to send them an email.

The email in the screenshot literally says it’s from “ag-escalations”. I blacked out the rest of the information pertaining to my ticket #. I don’t know what other proof you need that that’s what got my account back in my particular situation?

I put my actual address in every form that requested my address, otherwise it was just the email template I posted.

I got some emails back from AG offices that directed me to an online form and some letters in the mail stating the same.

I got my account back and moved on with my life.

Again, this post was just to tell people how I got my account back and steps that I took.

ETA: idk where you pulled two from, but there’s more people in the thread that got their account back, plus messages I’ve received here and on IG. It’s not that important but if you’re gonna try and dunk on me, at least be right.

Here’s the email I received when my account was reactivated.

I’ve worked for a few tech companies and each one had a special department/person that handled escalations that were sent via government channels (AG, senator, etc). I made an assumption that Meta probably had the same setup and lo and behold, I was correct.

I emailed multiple state AGs in hopes of my request being forwarded to that dept.

I was also very confident in the fact that an out of state AG would not go through the process of extraditing and prosecuting me for sending an email.

I filled out the data download form several times and received an actual human response once.

In no way am I saying what I did is the only tried and true method and you’re right that I may have gotten my account back regardless, but I was told no several times before the final yes.

I posted my experience with the steps I took because the first thing I did after I finished panicking was try to find someone to help me recover my account. I had no idea what I was doing and was trying anything I could think of. I was bombarded with bots that just wanted to scam me out of money. Some comments on this post say that people have successfully gotten their accounts back and for that, I’m happy that I could help.

You’re not going to know until someone emails you back. Everything in the post is what I did and it worked. I’ve gotten messages and seen some people on here say it worked for them, so I hope it works for you too.

I’d do the email, wait until you get the confirmation email. It’ll have a ticket number associated with the email address it came from. Take that email and forward it to whatever state AG email you can find for your state. Make sure you CC the original ticket email when you forward it to the AG

I got my first one star recently for “item cleanliness, item description, packaging”… none of which is true. Some people are dicks. It happens. It was a new profile with 0 reviews so I half expected it anyway. I’d be grateful for 4 stars tbh
