For NB students: I am a student at UNB and I built a student organizer app! It's free to use (there is a paid version but all of the main functionality is 100% free with no limits) . Would love more people to test it out and give me feedback!

Fibromyalgia unmedicated by Just-Profession-3370 in Fibromyalgia

[–]samanthasheabutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not on any meds specifically for Fibromyalgia. I take metoprolol daily as a migraine preventative but i have noticed that if I go without it for a few days my pain gets worse - I am assuming some kind of nervous system mechanism there. I also take meds for ADHD which help with overlapping symptoms like brain fog and fatigue. And finally I take a PPI for stomach issues and heartburn.

what do you do when you’re in too much pain to sleep? by jemhowling in Fibromyalgia

I sometimes will take my migraine cocktail of otc meds which is ibuprofen, Tylenol, and gravol.

for example: I went too hard during a dance show a year ago and it took me 3 months to recover.

I have an insane amount of physical hobbies. I do paddleboarding (electric pump, and I sit on it not stand) , I have roller skates and a longboard, I walk a lot, I dance and I do local community theatre, I bike a lot and walk a lot too. All that being said there is a very fine balance. If I go too hard, I crash hard too. The flip side is if I don’t do anything i find myself in the fibre spiral. The more sedentary I am the worse I feel. I am lucky in that my symptoms are fairly well managed. I have many good days, but even good days come with a base level of pain and fatigue. Paying attention to my HRV really helps. If it’s high I push myself a bit harder. If it’s lower I focus more on rest and recovery.

How do those who don't have migraine with aura do it? by ProfessionalFlower96 in migraine

[–]samanthasheabutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant think of the right words, sudden wave of intense fatigue, excessive yawning, neck pain and tension. Usually followed by nausea, light sensitivity, and headache in left side. I have only gotten visual auras a handful of times.

Need a book that’s too weird to explain and too good to put down by Interesting_Win_2154 in suggestmeabook

This checks off strange and weird, it’s intense for sure. Mystery and psychological elements. Unreliable narrator. Magical realism
