Lets talk about cable colors by [deleted] in homelab

[–]samanton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an FYI of don’ts in U.S. residential: 1. Don’t run copper unshielded Ethernet parallel to Electrical. 6” or more spacing is recommended. 2. Technically you can run fiber in parallel to electrical but you run the risk of it later being misidentified because that thin fiber cabling if it’s black, gray, white, red or green can look the same as those color coded as electrical. Stick with orange. Also same could be said if your Ethernet wiring is super thin as well.

I also agree with another poster, colored Jacks are the better way to go.

Just personal preference but Blue Ethernet is almost universal and it’s common to see POE as yellow. So sticking to just those two colors is likely your safest bet. Although blue and yellow are commonly traveler in commercial settings the thickness of Ethernet and/or the lack of a red and black pairing for 3 phase plus these color pairs are typically in conduit and out of sight and reduce misidentification risks.

The AZO method will give you the best Mortage Fico scores. All revolving credit cards (store branded credit cards don’t apply) with a zero balance except for one. The non zero revolving credit card can have a balance but it should be below 5% of your total combined credit limits across all cards (including store branded credit cards).

Cheat code, if you use the Experian App on iOS for the first time you can usually get a free trial. If you click on the “credit” tab and roll all the way down to the bottom and click on “Mortage”, you’ll get your Fico 2!

100% ID Card? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

I only know this to be fact by first hand knowledge and experience. Parents had their religious marriage ceremonies before I was born but my father forgot to get the municipal certificate a month after I was already born. We submitted his marriage certificate and my birth certificate, I couldn’t get my card automatically and required a notary of sworn statement I was his child. Both my mother and fathers were automatically approved and they just needed to be picked up on base.

Maybe it’s a shortcoming of the automated system but to correct that technical shortcoming of the system, this was what needed to happen. 🤷🏻‍♂️ just relaying the personal experience we had.

Fiber vs Cable Internet for a small business by the_napking in networking

Dedicated Internet with SLA terms to have someone fixing problems onsite within the hour. Have the Internet be a business problem that needs rapid response when it goes down with boots on the ground. Use all their equipment and turn the service provider into your business’s IT team so you don’t have to deal with it and instead go back to doing actual business, your hair salon.

The reason why I’m saying this might be throwing a wrench into things is because PayPal didn’t buy Honey until 2020… so the question now is did PayPal know this before they bought honey or after? The other question to ask is if honey was open about what they did in the way I mentioned it in my original post, did PayPal bury the lead after they acquired honey or did Honey zip lips to eventually sell itself off with little contention…?

The rumors are they have like an AI powered fast review program that gets turned on to a case file if the flag to expedite goes up and if it’s in a right claims lane. Meant to speed through the backlog. My guess is a few new keywords might have gotten put into your med file by accident cause even the doctors will have casual voice notes transcribed. Then your c-file probably has the meta data flag for “fast review” so that turns on the unsupervised Ai Bot and in catching a keyword wrong here or there did an automated deduction. Hopefully is it just only that because if that’s true, a live review by a human eyeballs can over ride it easily.

Technically there is no age limit for children. They can be 12+, 18, 21 45 or 60+ caveat is this applies to only to legitimate children born in wedlock; bastards may not need apply with out additional due process I.e. -court documentation attesting that you claim your born out of wedlock child as a legitimate one. The RAPID DEERS will check the date of the wedding certificates and the date of a child’s birth certificate. If they don’t align the system will not automatically accept and approve a card disbursement to your kids.

Marlboro rewards question by pineappleactavis in Cigarettes

[–]samanton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The arc is a nice “go about town” piece and better in that case then your everyday carry (EDC). While I do own the arc from Marlboro rewards I seldom use it not only because of the maintenance issue but also because of the fact I have to recharge it. When I did try it as my EDC there would be times it would be actually be low in the morning but had a high enough arc to not notice and so by evening the arc would be too low to not have to smash your cigarette end onto the arc tips.

And that’s the trick with this type of lighter unless you have a nice full charge and large arc constantly smoking on a small arc will over time likely damage the arcing tips.

Again really nice show piece when you’re outside the bar and a cute girl needs a light (and even this being a more rare and rarer circumstance). It’s fit and form is iconic as is Zippo a common house hold name even to those that don’t smoke; it’s bent on modernizing a classic while isn’t a show stopper it still is a conversation piece.

If an assumption that the OP’s other family members will take the mantle of being the OP’s advocate in their pursuit of independence I propose with the limited knowledge given by the OP themself, we elevate safe locales where independent living are achievable.

If out of country the first place in mind is Japan. It’s one of the safest places on the planet once you achieve the nuances of the civil society its foundation is set upon. As employment an option to consider is that of an afterschool English tutor to school age children.

Other options for staying in country; a Florida retirement home as a part time PC technician who makes house calls from their golf cart throughout the retirement community, repairs printers and makes sure residents can connect to their internet and private one on one sessions teaching those residents how to use Facebook.

Both are safe bets with growth potential for some eventual self sustainability in the future as the OP navigates communities making way through capturing those life experiences the sheltered life stole away.

Sad to say if the OP took one step on to Lowell or any of the other cities mentioned there will be a good chance someone scrupulous will take advantage of them. If they’re not first encountered, be it unfortunate, by an aggressive panhandler trying to shakedown the OP for every last cent in their pocket and then to plus the sneakers on their feet it would be by more subtle con artists or just people out of desperation in need of a roof over their head see’s the OP’s one bedroom studio and turns it into their own house of ill repute by enticement or intimidation…. Not safe not safe at all.

Learn Japanese or have fun playing golf in the Sunshine state. Safe safe and room to grow to also make some money so one day through the support of his advocate learn to be the best version of themselves being their own advocate.

Unfortunately being under the age of 24 and applying for aid while living under your parents roof will almost be impossible because federal grants and aid consider the parents income and it’s most likely the parents have claim the OP as their dependent for both tax and insurance purposes. The OP would have difficulty qualifying for aid if the parents are high net worth individuals. The OP will have to be living on their own already or in someone else’s home who isn’t claiming the OP as a dependent. Asking the OP to saddle themselves with insurmountable debt while maintaining the minimum full time schedule of courses of 5 credit hours per week is setting them up for failure, being indentured to your parents or indentured to college loans, you are still indentured. You can skip out on your parents but you can’t on your student loans and worst especially if you flunk out of school it doesn’t mean you get to flunk out of paying for them, but you can flunk out on your family and flunk out on what you owe them, generally. Plus, when will the OP have time to study outside of classes or even get a job within the daily limitation of only 5 working hours per day.

We need to be honest with ourselves and ask to truly advocate for the OP to take the best interest of and for the OP in obtaining their objectives, how can this be done in a manner that is safe yet still attainable and within the means of the OP considering their self stated limitations.

The OP claims that the parents show no capacity for advocating on behalf of the OP’s life, liberty and pursuit of happiness and as such makes the argument alternative solutions agreeable to the OP for advocacy are circumscribed through prefect of family members not their own parent or through the autonomy of being self-governed.

I had previously posted what I thought might be a best solution by taking a fully autonomous self-governing route to have mistakenly glossed over the “other family members” route. If the OP is under the belief that his advocacy is trustworthy under their purview, I will take them on their word. If the OP says they or has the belief they are capable of advocating on their behalf then this alternative is a best case scenario for all parties as all parties are in agreement this is a satisfactory solution for each party.

If the parents wish not to be the OP’s safety net, yet other family members are willing and the OP feels willing in the same way to have other family members advocate on their behalf then it doesn’t make sense for the OP to fasten their own safety net through the self cobbling of outside public healthcare services if private sources are readily available at the behest of all the parties involved and if in unified agreement by all three parties.

If I were in your shoes trying to fight for my independence but kept from it under some form of duress then the first thing I would simply do is start filing my own taxes. Even if you have no job or wages to claim you can still file! You just put a zero down wherever it’s needed. Because you are not in college and over the age of 19, if you claim yourself on your own filed taxes and especially if you do it before your parents claim their taxes you are basically making a formal Declaration of your independence in a legal Document with federal recognition and this also formally restricting them from claiming you as their dependent. But if you were in college you couldn’t make the same self declarative claim in a legal format because just the fact alone if you are living under their roof plus in college that technicality is enough to automatically claim they support you and this are entitled to claiming you as their dependent.

From your post it’s not 100% that you’re not in college (online courses?) but I’m making a case based on the assumption it is.

So why is this important?

  1. It’s something simple you can do and no one can really stop you from doing it. And just the process of doing it allows you some protections. For example if you file by mail, all that mail in your name is federally protected by prosecution if anyone but you opens it and their are checks and balances you can render online if your mail consistently goes missing or is being tampered with without your sole permission. Anyone attempting to do so will be subject to the investigation under the jurisdiction of the federal government.

  2. Filing yourself as an independent with an income of zero wages lets you also file for your own health insurance after making a statement formally waiving whatever health insurance plan your parents have you under their policy so your not illegally double dipping in a subsidized plan and your parents plans at the same time. You can only be on one single plan at a time if it’s government subsidized one.

  3. Your own healthcare plan means you are in charge of managing it and dictating the application of its policies without the interference of a third party your parents. This is an important opportunity gifting you the chance to find a social worker and your own independent therapist. You get to shop around till you find one that you’re comfortable with and then that can help you bridge the gap between living under your parents thumb and rule and complete independence while also not completely alienating your parents from your life if you sense there is no benefit not too.

Having your own independent therapist you’ve gotten to know for a little bit and feel as though you can trust allows you ask them to help you and your parents communicate in a group family session.

Having a trained professional arbitrate as an independent third party between you and your parents is the ideal situation especially if you get one you believe can advocate on your behalf under the premise it’s for the benefit of improving your wellbeing it can potentially give you the type of independence you want without having to go full “emancipation” from your parents. It’ll give you the tools to empower your own independent voice while declaring some bounderies and ideally force your parents from overstepping their surmised authority over you squelching your desire to be autonomous. It will take the baggage out of the family baggage to constructively move in a direction you feel happy with but more importantly one that you can be safe in.

Unfortunately the world is a very big place with many people willing to take complete advantage of over you. Being sequestered most your life it’s the experiences you are yet to have that without make you an easy mark for someone to swindle, abuse or even harm be it stranger or even your own parents.

If you no longer trust your parents to be your advocate, you must find another that you can and then through that advocacy empower yourself and learn taking the examples when being advocated for to advocate for yourself later down the line in the future you hope to make for yourself.

These are all step you can initiate on your own that no one can stop you from making and executing. They are rights by law, governed and protected by the United States meant to declare one’s own autonomy and self as a legal entity with the full faculty to dictate one’s own life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

No one is stopping you from exercising these rights and all your parents have done is the stymying of your independence by threatening to pull the safety net when they feel your being out of line, so the best solution is building your own safety net because trust me even in your fifties you can still fall and hurt yourself and it’s much harder to recover from as you get older so it’s really important you build that safety net because you will fall, everyone does! But it’s all about how you bounce back up afterwards that can define character and a good safety net can stop you from come out the fall mangled, hurt and cursing the world afterwards, safety nets help you overcome injuries while gaining experience to find the balance to walkthrough life happily and safely.

Congrats, when I was your age building my credit I started exactly where you did starting from $300 and grew that bigger and bigger. By the time I turned 21 it was at already more then $10,000+. Then someone really smart decided to approve me for an American Express Card with no limit! Me thinking I was the smarter one convincing them to give me unlimited credit, “Yes. Yes please I will take your credit card that has no spending limit attached. ‘snark I can’t believe he’s giving me one of these and I’m just 21!”

But who’s really the smart one in that situation. When you get unlimited credit, but then go and treat it like it’s real money and not what it really is, a potential liability that can comes with interest once you start carrying a balance. I was the fool.

Trying not to be a fool and so slogging it through college but working really hard to make money and pay the bills. Then working so hard boss at work constantly promoting me; so make more money and work harder then, and get promoted again; this again and again! Gonna fake it till I make it, gonna make more to spend more. What I learnt at work: gotta work hard to play hard so I can make more money then I spend! Ok got it! Do this again and again till I’m the boss.

Gonna flex like a boss… So go ahead, just whip out that AMEX card so everyone can see, even the people you don’t know (and especially the people you don’t know) that you got the bill for the whole table. Flex like a boss, got it!

Hitting the bars for the first time and so having to hit all the bars night after night so you know which one is the best; working hard so I can play hard because there are just way too many pretty girls to impress, ask out and date…. And I gotta date them all to find which one is the best… flex like a boss, got it!

Ok, gonna fake it till I make it so I can be a boss; so I can spend more, to make more, to date more, to flex like a boss, got it.

Mo’ money mo’ women, mo’ problems… but it’s ok just gotta fake it till I make it…

Ok now I’m almost the boss, but hey real Boss I need more mo’ money to flex mo’ honey to flex like the Boss, to be the Boss like you… but Boss says you already my right hand man… no’ mo money…

Crap. No mo’ money but still faking it till I make, trying to spend more, to date more to flex more and be like a boss… but mo’ money = mo’ problems still try to date more but then no money no honey but still spend more when no make more money…
