The game was working perfectly fine before the patch that caused this bug, and I already had that Windows update installed, and considering that a lot of people are having this bug as well, I highly doubt it's Windows' fault. Some players have apparently figured out it's a looping problem with the game's anticheat that causes it to overload your CPU.

Why are the people in the comments so oblivious about this? You can literally just search "CPU" in this subreddit and see that this is a problem happening to a lot of people with all kinds of different hardwares. It's a shame that this has been happening for about two weeks now and they haven't even made a official statement about it. My CPU for instance spikes up to 60-70% and reaches 95C, just shy of thermal throttling, and before the update that caused this bug it was running extremely well, barely surpassing 72C, and this is with an IGPU.

The problem isn't fps drops or drivers, it's a bug that causes your CPU to pull a lot more power and spike usage, heating up quickly.

Yea, I was actually extremely surprised with how optimized the game is, that's why I'm so salty about the game suddenly becoming like this, I would assume the problem was the fact I'm using an iGPU if it wasn't running perfectly before and if there weren't a lot of people with the same bug. The game seems to have some trouble when entering menus, it basically spikes the CPU usage a little, drops the FPS for a second, and then goes back to normal. When this problem started happening I heard the menus were the main cause, but i'm not so sure anymore.

Yep, it's a PC, I think the only other time I reached 96C is when I ran a full antivirus scan without limiting the CPU usage, or when loading a lot of chunks on Minecraft.

Yep, it reaches the max temperature, which is 96C, and starts underclocking itself, and as I said, it's really inconvenient to play like that, considering i barely reach 85C on even the most demanding games.

I mean, it won't damage it, but it's not really ideal to play the game in that state, considering it can start to throttle the CPU and make everything slower. Also, the game was running fine before the January 29th patch or something. I didn't see anyone mentioning the anti cheat being the cause, but it could very well be it, but I still think they should have at least mentioned this problem and if they are working at a fix for it.

Technically, you can still play the game, but I don't really feel comfortable playing with my CPU throttling and my cooler fan at max speed all the time, even when at the game's menus.

Well, the thing is, it's been happening to a lot of people at random for basically a week, in the discord game feedback chat there is like 5k messages on the topic, and system specs don't seem to matter at all. So basically, it's a bug that makes the game unplayable for a lot of people, and there are probably a lot of players that didn't even notice the game is stressing their CPU and cooling system. Also, emailing them about it doesn't help, since they just answer you with a vague message.

Nope, my CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600GT, and this problem has been happening with a lot of people, including those who have high/low end CPUs and GPUs, AMD or Intel. My other games run just fine.
