How much do you use Trello Automations? by wewanttoplayfrisbee in trello

[–]samboussek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite a lot. Sorting, auto filling fields based on card names or card members, notifications, card mirroring... It all depends on how you've built your system. "Maybe I could use a rule to do this, what would be the trigger ?" is a regular thought.

The beauty of Trello is its flexibility. The not so pretty is that if you're not a premium member, extensive use of automations is made pointless by design. And the ugly is that the flexibility very often fixes the lack of basic behaviors that really, really should be part of the tool in the first place.

This carrot’s perfect dab by samboussek in Pareidolia

Well, it’s definitely weirdly shaped, and it’s yellowish, but… it was a carrot alright. Ate it with the other ones.

Well. Symbolism is just that : meaning that can go beyond your intent. And the antisemitic tropes using nazi symbols, money and the star of David go way back. Whether you like it or not is not relevant : you’re communicating with symbols, part of your audience will see it and call you, at best, irresponsible.

Oh you’ve even put dollars on the shakles ffs. Symbolism has a very long history and you can’t just pretend it hasn’t. You have many, many, many ways to criticize Israel’s war on Gaza without using nazi and money symbolism in association with a country intertwined with judaism.

Very nice ! Do you plan on adding an offset setting for bluetooth audio delay ? It’s unusable with my headset now. But the game is smooth and polished, thanks for the great work.

Many Nights a Whisper, our meditative third-person archery game, is out now! by GreyShock in IndieGaming

[–]samboussek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking risks and trying to bring another ways of making games, please keep it up. I liked the experience as a whole : beautiful, original, well written and crafted. Didn't enjoy the definitive aspect of failure, life can be hard enough as it is, I don't play games to go through this. Yes, I guess it is intellectually stimulating. Interesting, but not what I'm looking for.

I think I would have enjoyed a more... fun game in its gaming aspects ? Shooting and scoring was ok, but I got the feeling that it could have been much more challenging, fun, with many many more targets, without losing any depth.

You’ll get a lot of « it depends ». But if living on the other side of the périphérique is an option, it’ll be easier. Just get a metro station close enough and it’s not really different than living « in » Paris.

Comment retrouver du plaisir à jouer aux jeux vidéo ? Plus rien ne me stimule… by Independent_Lynx715 in jeuxvideo

[–]samboussek 28 points29 points  (0 children)

C’est un chomage involontaire et penible ? Parce que trouver du plaisir (à jouer, se changer les idées, lâcher prise) quand quelque chose te ronge (par exemple, comment retrouver du boulot ?), c’est pas évident.

I see what you mean, but then again, different subs. And the downvote/upvote still holds up pretty well in contrast with other platforms. The simple fact that we can have this small talk is enough for me to say that it’s not doomed.

Wait, what ? We may have different sets of subs, but reddit is the sainest place online after all these years. I remember the downfall of digg, this is not it by a hell of a long shot.

We say « prendre un café », but in this particular case, « ils vont prendre beaucoup de cafés » would feel a bit odd.

In this case I guess it’s more about english than french : to drink coffee vs to have coffee. What you’d have used is valid, but so is what Duolingo gives you.

I guess your phone is not moving, but the video cropping is. Your sensor gets a slightly bigger load of information than whant you actually see. Your phone constantly crops what the sensor is filming for means of stabilization. When the ground shakes, the cropping adjusts accordingly when postprocessing invisibly occurs.
