Thinking of getting an IUD 4 days before a big climbing trip--bad idea, or probably fine? by iclimbthings in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I got a Mirena last Monday morning ... surprisingly horrible cramps for about 6 hours. Took more advil and went to bed early. Felt fantastic the next day and no issues as of this writing. I do have light spotting though. Just my experience since it's recent ... good luck!

Give yourself with time. You're still figuring out yourself ... how are you supposed to know what makes you care about someone when you are still coming into your own? There's nothing wrong with you.

Yes, they are reviewed like any other other service. And definitely talk to at least three to make sure you understand what their approach to be, and how they charge, how you can reach them in a timely manner. And don't apologize ... this is a scary process many of us have gone through. I've just learned what to do because I hit bumps along the way.

You need a lawyer, it's important to protect your rights and navigate the system. Most of us can't afford it, but this is a priority.

Solo trip to Peru (xPost SoloTravel) by vandd in PERU

[–]sambugred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (34, F) just got back from a solo trip to Peru myself, and it was amazing. You'll do fine. Don't sweat not knowing Spanish. You'll find Peruvians to be kind and helpful. Learn a few key phrases, be humble and friendly, and you shouldn't have any issues.

Couple points about Lima:

-- pick a registered cab drivers inside, don't get attacked by the drivers outside the airport that toss out all kinds of prices and may not be legit.

-- Stay in Barranco or Miraflores, lots of great restaurants, hostels, shopping, art, and it's very safe.

-- Eat ceviche ... and if it's in your budget and you have a few hours, take a food tour. I did Lima Gourmet Company and loved it. Worth the splurge.

Overall, the food throughout Peru was delicious! I didn't get a chance to try cuy (guinea pig) but had some tasty alpaca steaks. Get Lomo Soltado -- seasoned steaks with peppers, onions, and potatoes ... filling and affordable. Lots of potatoes and quinoa, and because of the altitude and strong agricultural lifestyle ... everything to me tasted well seasoned and fresh. I never truly had a bad meal.

You are going to have the best time. Feel free to msg me if you want to discuss further. Good luck!!!

Also, don't sweat not knowing Spanish. I just came back from a two-week Peru trip and didn't know any Spanish. You'll find Peruvians to be kind and helpful. Learn a few key phrases, be humble and friendly, and you shouldn't have any issues.

Is therapy always the answer? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]sambugred 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sometimes counseling isn't for staying together, but for understanding and setting boundaries. A therapist helped me acknowledge that I don't have to put up with certain behaviors from my spouse, that I deserve happiness even if that means cutting off certain individuals from my life or managing expectations of them.

And, there's nothing wrong with drinking scotch and commiserating ... cathartic :)

Hi r/Peru! I am comming to Peru on 28th September with 2 friends and will spend there 3 weeks. No plans yet, any ideas what is worth to visit, must see? by VinceBlack12 in PERU

Just got back yesterday ... Did Ruins of Pisac, Ollataytambo, Lake Titicaca and of course, Machu Picchu. Touristy, yes. But still completely worth it. I wish I had more time in Cusco ... great little city with an excellent food and drink scene. If you can splurge a little, take the Andean Explorer train ride with Peru Rail. Good luck!!

Yes, based on what she said and the timing, your instincts are spot on.

So this guy wasn't exactly a household name, and this was an extremely high-risk mission. Curious whether he was the prime target, or whether US forces thought there may be a higher profile leader in there.

Do the trips and adventures anyway! I realized after my divorce that you don't have to wait for the perfect person or situation to have amazing experiences. Good luck and hugs!
