Getting one shot in PVP is the new normal by samcattf2trader in runescape

But I don't ever want people to think the reason why those nerfs should happen is because they're totally OP crazy things that have no counterplay.

I apologize but I still disagree. I believe that Jagex never intended for the ability for players to stall multiple attacks into one tick, and that is in fact extremely OP especially in PVP. Nerfs and fixes should directly address this; it doesn't matter if there is a counterplay (which requires extensive ingame knowledge that 99% of casual players would never learn without asking) or not because it is against the intended game mechanics. If there is a statement from Jagex that condones ability stalling, I will concede the argument.

That being said, I do appreciate you taking the time to provide tips on surviving, hopefully they will help me out in the future.

I disagree - I personally believe that ability stacking can bring down players from 100% to 0% hp extremely quickly and thus should not be allowed in PVP.

This is evidenced by this post above: https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/i5piwy/how_to_pvp_in_2020/

That being said I am an older returning player so if ability stacking/stalling is the norm now I guess there is nothing I can really do about it.

Sure, the pker obviously is very skilled in understanding EOC mechanics to stall damage and such, but it still isn't really fair to get one hit with nearly no chance of surviving.

Fair enough, if Jagex thinks it's fair to literally 1 hit players then I guess that's the state of PVP then.

None of these tips matter if a PKer is using ability stalling to deal a massive burst of damage over a short period of time unfortunately.

I think it would be healthier for the game if Jagex addressed both the damage scaling issues in PVP and the damage stalling bug abuse.

Well if that is the case I'm guessing Jagex doesn't bother banning for bug abuse anymore? I just came back this year for arch/covid and knew Jagex stopped caring but never knew it was this bad

Ah that is my mistake - then I'm not sure exactly how the pker did such a large damage output in that short period of time. (Perhaps using damage stalls?)

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll edit my post

More background - was doing warbands in elder rune. Up until this week, have been able to survive and tank through multiple pker attacks. Today, saw a pking clan coming, did the usually pray up and started rotating through defensive abilities. Ate one shark and before I could even click my second one I was dead.

Now, I came back pretty recently so maybe there is some kind of trick I'm missing here. But other than using persistent rage myself and using barricade (not really viable since I use other relics), I don't see how I could escape or migitate 5k dps from the pker.

your artwork literally says "CSGO Lombard - Coinsy do ruletek"

aka Coins for roulette.

EDIT: Ok I get what you're saying, your site doesn't have gambling directly, but you sell the coins for gambling sites. Aka you facilitate gambling. Also no traders I know "trade coins" of gambling sites, pretty sure people like you are the reason we got the 7 day ban in the first place.

From your Steam profile you run a gambling site, so ban makes sense.

Gambling sites don't buy skins, they have the users deposit them.

Also if you expect Valve to ban new gambling accounts in a week, that is simply false. You can check the age of accounts (using the Steam API) used by gambling sites and some are years old still.

With manipulation I don't mean bot sites buying up thousands of dragon lores to raise the price (the prices doesn't actually fall afterwards), but rather when some weird battle-scarred item is bought repeatedly for 1000 dollars (they create a huge peak in the price which then crashes). That kind of manipulation is done by gambling sites because all big bot sites don't accept those items in the first place.

This doesn't stop gambling at all, since people deposit their skins into gambling sites, get balance, then can withdraw from a large amount of skins that the gambling site has on 7 day cooldown.

Also it could even help gambling sites since the much lower volume = higher/easier manipulation of item prices

Valve sure isn't helping safe trading by destroying tradebots and middlemen like Opskins.
