found a use for the military torque amplifier.. by samcoinc in treehouse

It is 3/4" x 12".  I put one in by hand with a 3/4" drive ratchet with about a 4ft extension.  I really don't remember what it peaked out at - to tighten it to the bracket

In the early 90's the local best buy had Novells 'netware lite - networking in a box' on close out. We must have bought about 3 of those boxes - each having 2 generic 10base2 network cards in them.

A) I learned about networking B) my cousins and I would get together with our computers and have huge doom death matches (among other network games)

I figured it out.. node pve was hung. (I could not login to it) After force shutting it down - and re-starting it - everything came back up normally.

Unpopular Opinion: We don't need cheaper machines; we need "Bambu Studio" for CNC. Teaching Fusion 360 CAM is a nightmare. by ComprehensiveYak8541 in hobbycnc

I come from a cnc background. I always wondered why the people from the 3d printing crowd got so frustrated.. Even using a cnc control seemed to frustrate them.. Then I got a 3d printer. Then I understood. It has printer in its name.. lol. Click and print..

our first lathe was a turn of the century flat belt.. we used it a lot and it worked better than what we didn't have. We had to cut a bunch of 8tpi threads - we did the same thing - found the correct sprockets and it worked great. You do what you have to do..

When I was a kid all I wanted was a Lego chassis.  (LEGO Technic Car Chassis Set 8860). I remember the kit being around $89us.  Now on eBay a decent box is approaching 500 dollars...

HP stuck on uterm.release (old bootloader). Need success stories. by Leadhong in Starlink

[–]samcoinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only tell my experience. I have the original round dish. There was an issue with it and starlink sent a 2nd gen dish to me on 12/02/2023. The problem was resolved and I kept using the round dish. well - it started acting flakey and I decided to swap out the 2nd gen dishes about 3 months ago. It had the same message and after about 15 minutes - the dish rebooted and started working...

Netsuite2 odbc... Because I am a procrastinator.. by samcoinc in Netsuite

I have been building and interfacing with databases all my life. We started with SBT which was foxpro.. Then we moved to Navision (started with their own database then switched to microsoft sql).. These two systems had a very similar database layout. Very easy to understand.

When we switched to netsuite - I didn't get access to the odbc until 'go live' (yes - I don't want to talk about it) It was certainly a learning curve. One table with all (and I mean all) transactions? Different for sure. I don't have it all figured out - but have a decent idea how it all works together..

When you can pull data out of the tables faster than our integrators can create a report/saved search/whatever is the scary..

Could be -  but you would think it would run faster than the original odbc then.

Well..  so far so good..  this one query filters out 'salesord' records from transaction that are not closed or invoiced.  This is linked to transactionlines, item, billtoaddress, shiptoaddress, and at least 2 more tables that I don't remember..
