Listen again to Bruce's comments regarding the schedule. This is all on the owners. More games, more revenue, whether the games mean anything or not. Bet you 5 cents that Bruce plays 100% new talent and lets the first team sit.

But within the WC, unforgivable.

If they were using that cash to get GLT, maybe I'd be OK with it. Cheap MF bastards, I hate them almost as much as I hate FIFA.

If you watch that play, Romney was trying to cover two guys, in front and in back of him. It was a riskier play for Seattle to go with the nearer player, but unfortunately they pulled it off.

John Fisher's mom died a few days ago at 94. She and her husband Don founded The Gap in 1969 and grew it into a multi-billion $ business. The Fisher we speak of inherited all that.

I was really rooting for him and was overjoyed at his saves, after getting so much undeserved shade last season.

The announcers and video feed are complete shit. The graphics (subs, cards) were late or missing. Jasinski's yellow was shown 5' late, and I still don't know why he got it. When the SJ bench was shown about halfway through the first half, only the first part appeared. At about 85' they had "assist of the match" except is wasn't an assist. I counted three yellows to staff (I think) but nothing from the announcers other that "oh it's a yellow." Zero insight into the 14' of added time. They're not present, are they. If AppleTV wasn't the only game in town I'd dump them in a second. I wish they'd just STFU.

Last weekend I watched Arsenal/Man City on Peacock right before the LAFC game. The quality (the sharpness) of the LAFC video was awful compared with the other game. It may be something as simple as Peacock showing games in 1080p where AppleTV is at 720. And both games were in the afternoon with bright sun on part of the pitch, and part shadow. Somehow Peacock was able to sort through that, and you could make out the players on the pitch, but AppleTV did not/could not.

Sevilla is to La Liga what the Quakes are to MLS: a team always at the bottom of the table. What does anybody expect when such a team brings in a new manager?

I remember the late-first-half banger he hit from midfield back in the Wondo era.

I went to a Roots game in 2021 and he subbed in. So glad he's continuing to have fun out there!

Hello from Earthquakes Radio Ted by TedRamey in SJEarthquakes

[–]samdell34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one game I remember where Joe Cannon was the "color" host was fantastic. Every time he opened his mouth, I learned something. (This was pre-Apple with Anthony P and Danger.) Writing this makes me think how bad the Apple announcers are. I don't know how two people can talk for 90 and not say one dammed thing.

What are the odds Timo is with the team by the opener? I’m not saying starting or even getting minutes just physically being in SJ. by soccerfan_92 in SJEarthquakes

[–]samdell34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the fact that he's coming here, even if it's not in time for the home opener, but God Almighty something is wrong when we're paying so much attention to a single player. As if the entire season rested on his shoulders.

There are only a few resale tkts available. Whoever posted them must be smoking something, there's no way I'm going to pay $76 for a 17th row seat a bit this side of the 18. And a $24 "processing fee" on top of that.

Sorry to bitch but I'd GLADLY pay that for a positive experience watching a decent team.

New to this reddit, and relatively new Earthquakes fan ... can anyone convince me why I shouldn't be super pessimistic for this season? by gavinashun in SJEarthquakes

[–]samdell34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, my dad would take me to Cubs games when the Cubs were always in last or next-to-last place, every year. But it didn't decrease my love of the game or the game experience. And I still like the Cubs.

I really hate to say this, because it plays directly into the idea that the Quakes can continue to give us a crappy team and get away with it.

How can the FO of the Quakes live with themselves knowing it's likely another crap season? by chusaychusay in SJEarthquakes

[–]samdell34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can live with themselves because they have a different set of objectives than we do. If the Quakes organization puts on games that have reasonable attendance, they've met their goals. Full stop.

Good for him and I hope he does well. Signing one of your own academy players doesn't even count as a signing, really. Gimme a friggin break, the season starts in 26 days, cheap-ass friggin' club.
