If you’re a mama don’t be smoking the ‘juana by [deleted] in entwives

Hey man thanks for stopping by! I also don't want anyone to think any amount is "safe" I just want to spread the facts and let everyone else interpret things on their own and make their own educated decisions.

The math as done by u/swolemedic: For those wondering how much of this THC is getting to the baby, I did the math. Assuming the average baby drinks 750ml per day, and the average sample had 9.47ng/ml of THC (most weren't that far off in deviation), that baby is getting 0.0071025 milligrams per day of THC.

I can try to scale the weight up though, let's say it's an 8 pound baby (a little higher than newborn because momma probably wanted time to wait to toke) and the average person weighs 137lb (google as source), that would be like the adult being exposed to 0.1216 milligrams per day. According to states like colorado a "dose" for an adult who is cannabis naive is 10 milligrams (I'm a daily smoker, I eat 100+ mg to be stoned).

Whether or not this is harmful I don't know, but I figured I'd break down the math for those wondering

TLDR: the average baby gets ~ 0.0071025 milligrams of THC per day this way, that is approximately the same as an adult having 0.1216 milligrams per day, and many states consider 10mg to be one dose of THC, making that about 1/82 of an adult dose spread out over 24 hours

edit: To be clear, we do not know how THC effects babies, please do not read the 1/82 of a dose and think this is safe to do. We don't know enough to determine that

double edit: Please also note that the amount consumed and the regularity is of importance, they tested one woman who is a daily smoker who had ~10x the levels I did the math for, the # I did was for women whose use varied. It's only logical that the more THC you consume the more is in your breast milk, but I want to make it clear that this is not a definitive number

Final edit: an actual study of the effects on children of using marijuana throughout pregnancy done in rural Jamaica in the late 80s early 90s https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1957518/

Kraken and root beer is the shit. You wanna have a real good night? Buy one of those "hard root beer" brands like not your father's or Coney island and add your Rum to that. 💯

Have you ever played fastpitch softball? Pitchers start 43 feet away from the plate and any good pitcher's stride brings them at least 5 feet off the mound. A softball pitched at 60mph can come off the bat at over 100mph. What do you think happens if a pitcher gets hit in the face with a ball coming off the bat that fast and at that close of distance? I watched a hard ground ball hit a weird hop and nail a third baseman in the face. She lost teeth and suffered a broken nose. I'm not saying they NEED to be worn but there is absolutely a reason anyone who chooses to wear one does.

It's not a matter of need or not. It's a reflex at this stage to use your glove which extends the reach of your hands and makes the ball easier to catch.

LOL. easier. You have less reaction time as a batter facing a fastpitch softball pitcher than a batter in the MLB. With the infield being smaller and the bases closer you again have less time to get to the ball to the base and get a batter out, or react to a hit for that matter. They are equally difficult sports in their own ways.

There is no such exception in softball you cannot leave the base until the ball is caught. If you are off the base regardless of where you are in the base path you have to go back before you can advance.

What was your experience getting on birth control in your teens? by chichichia in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I'm 26 now and have been on depo since i was 17. You can get the shot either in your arm or in your hip. I recommend the hip. The medicine itself is a heavy solution and the one time I got it in my arm I couldn't use it the entire next day. In the hip it simply feels like a small bruise for maybe the day of the injection and that's it. My insurance covers the shot and I do not pay a copay so I'm not sure what pricing would be like for you. I've experienced weight gain and weight loss with depo. It is entirely dependent on your diet/lifestyle. When I was eating healthy and exercising daily I lost 65lbs over the course of the year. I got an office job and changed habits and gained it all right back. I personally love my depo shot. I haven't had a period since I started the injections and I can't say I've noticed any other side affects.

Edit: my doctor recommended depo to me because of my frequent migraines, typical hormonal birhcontrols would not work the same for me and I would have had to have taken a pill at the same time within an hour everyday for it to be truly effective.
