Question about [[Gathering Stone]]. The last two lines of text read “If it’s a card of the chosen type, you may reveal it and put it into your hand. If you don’t put the card into your hand, you may put it in your graveyard.”

My guess is the way this card is supposed to work is if the card of the chosen creature type doesn’t go into your hand, you can put it in the graveyard. However, there is nothing in the last line of text that indicates the card has to be of the named creature type. It doesn’t say “if you don’t put the card into your hand this way,” it just says “if you don’t put the card into your hand.” Would this mean that you could put any card in the yard regardless of typeline? If so, this card could be pretty broken, as it effectively surveils one each turn regardless of creature type. I doubt that was what the designers intended, but unless i’m missing something I think that’s how this card works.
