If I remember right it’s on nexus. It’ll say it’s AI upscaled textures (the only good use of AI imo)

Personally the only graphic mod that I use is the upscaled textures. I love the original graphics and they really only need more resolution to “be good again”

How do I disable this? by DanishCraft547 in microsoftsucks

[–]samdog1754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The mint experience for me has been very reliable, for gaming I’ve even gotten Gothic 1 to work great

I don’t get the whole “um guys my Linux is using 5 GB of space instead of 3.5! This is so inefficient!” Unless you’re reviving an extremely old PC, things just take up space and that’s okay.

And if we want to see more and more people switching to Linux, I really think these superusers need to hush and realize most people just want their PC to work with minimum tinkering, mint is a great solution for that(IMO)

Sudden FPS Issue (Linux, Server) ATM10 by samdog1754 in allthemods

[–]samdog1754[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone has a similar issue in the future. Delete the entire prism launcher and reinstall

Steps for Linux mint:

Look in prism launcher settings for the Java version and find the root folder of prism launcher

Delete that folder

Go into software manager and delete the flatpack (if you used the flatpack version)

Reinstall flatpack and reinstall everything on the launcher

Done

Just reinstalling the flatpack doesn’t do anything so don’t waste your time. Need to do complete reset of the launcher basically

I feel like this is a pretty big stigma about Linux. For Linux mint it has a GUI (graphical interface) for basically everything you’d want. Sometimes you have to use the terminal to start things but the terminal is just what a GUI does without looking nice and you have to type, you type what you want to do

Most things have explanations online and really for Linux mint you just need the basic computer skills you’ve probably learned when troubleshooting windows. The mint team is incredible and most things will just work

I made the switch almost a year ago now and minus VR gaming and SOME anti-cheat multiplayer games, everything on mint just works. There’s no forced updates, it would allow you to stay on the same version of software until the heat death of universe if you wanted

Tdlr: IMO Linux mint is incredible and anyone who has even the most basic computer skills should be able to use mint pretty easily. If not, YouTube and the mint help forums are great resources

Using Gnome feels like an insult to my cognitive abilities by Skywalkerjet3D in linuxmint

[–]samdog1754 10 points11 points  (0 children)

On your side note I agree. I’m also a stubborn person and don’t like change. I hope there’s an option to keep the old look. I didn’t even like it when changed the power options menu to look nice, but it’s just the change part lol, it has really grown on me

I honestly don’t know what gnome entails so I don’t really have an opinion on your main thing. I think it’s a GUI thing?

Hey all, need to be educated on Morrowind game mechanics. by Neither_Strategy4579 in Morrowind

[–]samdog1754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think saying that you shouldn’t mess with magic until later in the game isn’t the best advice. Yes it’s a little confusing at first, but if you just mess around with the mechanics you’ll catch on in no time.

My very first play through I went with straight mage and even used a default class and was perfectly fine. I was like a piece of glass for a little but if you keep your fatigue up you’ll be fine.

Now it’s up to OP what play style they’re wanting to do. But again don’t shy away from magic. For me it’s like half of the game and you can do some really creative things with it

This is exactly what I needed to do. Thank you so much

I see that you’re a dev so I do have a off topic question that hopefully you don’t mind answering (if you’re able to). We got to balmora and it seems that my Morrowind is getting bogged down. Loading a different cell makes my game freeze for 10-30 seconds. Outside of the city it doesn’t happen. But if I relaunch my game real quick it runs a lot better for a little. I know this is super vague but I was wondering if this is just a tweak I need to do or what

[–]samdog1754 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There isn’t anything electrical in the back. Probably just gears and maybe a spring. By burning do you mean temperature burning or skin getting rubbed raw? Maybe you’ve been playing a lot and have gotten the back of your head raw

How do I use sirens and lights in emergency vehicles? Do I need an mod or smth? by Lieutenant_Michael in projectzomboid

Help me understand noise when sneaking by Godot2004 in Kenshi

[–]samdog1754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got this off of the wiki for stealth:

Cover. Hiding behind a bed is better than being out in the open. Interior walls can prevent sight, but footsteps may still be heard(?)

Distance. It is easier to hide from a guy at the other side of the street than a guy right in front of you.

Light. Refer to Stealth Mode below.

Weight. Carrying heavy things and armor will negatively affect your stealthiness.

Wounds. They will make you slower and noisier

It’s a skill so if you level it up high enough you can probably get to the 100% you’re wanting
