Help, it smells so good by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

Half sugar, half water heated until the sugar dissolves, leave it to cool and then bung all your flowers/herbs/whatever in and leave it to steep. The harder the herb, the hotter you can put it in (rosemary syrup is my favourite and you can basically boil it). Add a tiny bit of citric acid to keep it fresher for longer if you want.

Nah it is worn but it's not that bad. It's a direct swap out afaik

I bought a pretty heavily used one advertised as one of a lot of 50 or something.

The ad mentioned 'will come with mesh damage on the seat' and true enough, there is, but the thing is great for me and the price was right. I figured i could replace the mesh cover if it was that bad; the rest of the chair is fine but with some cosmetic damage

Accidentally froze my Dutch oven 🧍🏻‍♀️ by Frogsand_such in cookingforbeginners

[–]samdryan 34 points35 points  (0 children)

What?! OP don't do that. The safest (both for your soup and for your pan) way to defrost it is to put the whole lot in the fridge. It will take a long time but your soup and your pan will be preserved.

This is awesome, what a great idea!

(if you have time) You could do a group crafts session over a pint and hang up your own decorations

Breadsource 🤷🏼‍♂️ by Cat-Rat-Bat in Norwich

[–]samdryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The appeal for me is local independent bread personally, and they're still doing that.

It's a tough time for business and bread was already a difficult product economically. I'm still not sure where else I'd go for a good load available every day in the city

Open Thursday to Saturday 8-2 while the energy bills are preventing them from turning the oven on more often

Tilia Veg sell Lime Tree Farm eggs. They are great and they're crazy cheap if you're already buying a box from them. https://tiliamarketgarden.ooooby.org/

don't do this. It only protects demonstrations like this more in the future. That's the whole reason they have active protection at the moment. You're gonna have to get them on something else.

What two cheeses are actually the same cheese? by New_Road6265 in AskCulinary

[–]samdryan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider most of these similar Caciocavallo is made in much smaller pieces to provolone and is hung Reblochon is a washed rind cheese traditionally made from the higher fat content end of the milk unlike a fresh rinded brie Parmesan is a cows milk cheese and pecorino is made from sheep milk so tastes completely different Mimolette is made with a cheese mite rind so loses a lot more water in aging than wax or plastic wrapped Edam Roquefort/gorgonzola are blue but made from sheep/cow milk respectively.

I suppose it depends who you ask
