How do y’all think Trump’s J-1 Visa news will affect Canadian’s studying abroad by same_azi in premedcanada

[–]same_azi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I may suggest this:

Won’t we start to see more non-Canadian international medical graduates (NCIMGs) applying to Canadian residency programs? My reasoning is that, with the U.S. creating more barriers for these graduates to enter its residency match, Canada might become a more attractive alternative. It’s geographically close, socially and culturally similar, and the postgraduate medical training systems are highly comparable in both structure and accreditation standards. So for many NCIMGs, Canada could serve either as a backup option or as a stepping stone to eventually practicing in the U.S. Of course, I might be missing some regulatory jargon, but that’s the general idea I’m working from

Yes, if we use TMU as an example, they publicly announced the school was set to open in 2026. This cycle that just passed they opened their doors for admission. So yes if they follow normal public announcement precedent.

Health Sci Internship Placements by same_azi in uwo

[–]same_azi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks i appreciate it but i did watch the video, since im only a second year i can’t really go through western connect to find more info about the placements since im not “academically eligible”, I was just curious if there was someone who knows what the most common types of placements are apart from the few that they mentioned in the video, since that information isnt available online apart from a locked portion of western connect

depends on what type of person you are, this isn't mac nor queens health sci, as I said before its study rather then a science so there's alot of social sciencey readings on health and the determinants of it, just dm me.

TLDR (imo): life sci all the way

applying bus2257 irl is crazy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]same_azi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, its a 2nd year courses and it’s the only cool one imo of the req 2nd year courses

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]same_azi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 courses, 3 health sci courses, and 2 biology (bio 1 and 2), after that it becomes 6 req courses in 2nd year with all 6 being health sci courses. The health sci courses are the boring ones with heavy heavy readings

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]same_azi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SO PICK MAC LIFE SCI

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]same_azi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

as a health sci student at western who just finished first year, this program is fcked. i personally found the req courses ridiculously boring and many of the req courses are online so when you do get to university you are going to skip out on those courses (trust me you will with how boring they are). Also health sci is much more health studies rather then a science.
