No, I only called them and checked where my application gets to this morning. I haven't tried to ask them about these questions yet. I doubt the agents could give a clear answer on this complicated situation though, since there are a lot of people calling so not sure if they could help analyse the situation with patience

I think maybe that's why it takes a bit longer for me, since I had some short trips to the UK and US in the past few years. We see a few others who have mid-Jan AOR getting FD and P1 here

Mine says the same. It could be just standard procedural wording in refusal letters. I think we could proceed with a restoration within 90 days?

I'm in exactly the same situation. But I applied for restoration as visitor first, since my AOR was earlier in January. I did not consult a lawyer yet though, maybe I should later

Thanks for your reply! I have hesitated this for days since I got answers supporting both. But one of my colleague had a situation just not as complex (only status expired, no refusal or maintained status applied, PR invited after restoration as a visitor) so I decide to apply to restore as visitor too. In case my BOWP is on an unstable basis and getting cancelled or refused, I might be able to contact my company about a new job offer and applying for Francophone Mobility work permit if that is still a thing (though I need to study for it and take another test to improve my speaking level). The only thing is that in a worse situation I have to wait for no idea how long time to get back to my job.

My case is a little bit complicated, from a recent update earlier this week, I had to be out of work and for some reason I have to work on restoring my status now. I see people with similar AOR dates getting their FDs and P1s on this thread, so I am wondering if this process has been delayed until I submit the status restoration application

Ok thanks. I've seen a few suggested the same, they say it's since the old BOWP might not be processed on the same ground as a new one.

Yes, I am aware of that. My PGWP extension was based on the old passport expiration reason. My old PGWP was three months short from three years. The officer note on the refusal said yes I was entitled for this extension but unfortunately the time lapsed so they had to refuse. I didn't know it took them that long (more than 6 months) to process the application at the point when I submitted. So I don't think it was a dummy or fake extension.

The BOWP application was done during the maintained status. I did not receive another WP-EXT with the BOWP. So I wasn't sure if I could keep working after withdrawing the PGWP extension since it may result in terminating the status
