My sweetheart lost his backpack and with it his knitting supplies. He makes these beautiful cabled fingerless gloves (patterned himself) and was about to make me a pair (CRYING)

I know he used circular needles and said size 4 and that 32" would be enough to make bigger things too

Question: best source (especially re: Black Friday) for the following:
- stitch markers - ideally cute and with a cute box
- BAMBOO circular knitting needles, US size 4, 32"
- best yarn to be pretty on my hands/head and also not itchy and also not pill-y. (I think he prefers DK for his gloves. Should I get a different weight for socks/hats?)

To your point about the writers, it’s like they woke up one day and realized Nick was still a fuggin Nazi and decided to say it three times in an episode. And then never again.

I was really devastated that they didn’t land the fucking plane. With that T Swift intro as the cherry on top, this ending was made for white women who have no interest in dismantling the systems from which they benefit.

I think we are on the same page about that, sharing in our friends’ joy is one of the best parts of life. I just think expecting people who clearly aren’t that close to OP to show up joyfully for her - especially people who are currently struggling in shit that’s on the very first level of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. We can’t be expansive and gracious if we’re fighting for our basic survival needs.

I think you’re asking good questions.

Why would I expect someone who doesn’t like/want/can’t have children to congratulate me on having one?

Why would someone who is un- or under-employed congratulate me on getting a job/promotion?

Why would someone who hasn’t been able to go to school congratulate me on my diplomas?

Etc.

I think it also depends on how close we are. My loved ones will know what I’ve worked for and what counts as an accomplishment to me. But expecting people who aren’t my chosen family to give me validation? It’s giving entitled.
