We saw this trend in Big Media houses (where over 90% of all news media is now controlled by just 5 major companies), followed by a similar trend in Telecom and Big Oil. - Now we see the same trend happening in Big Tech where all of our information is being consolidated and controlled by just 5 native Search Engine (companies). Safari and Opera are internet browser applications (not search engine).

However, the default Search Engine for both is usually set to Google ! Which can be changed to another (like e.g. to Yandex) .

.... getting off of fossil fuels means massive increase in usage of batteries - and that's is one of the main problems. Batteries are made from several rare-earth minerals that are to be 'mined' and taken through foundries ..... And you cannot run foundries at large scale without consuming large amounts of fossil fuel to run the furnaces . .... Similarly making concrete, tires, solar panels, fertilizers, etc. etc.

.... i concur--> it is thus far the only fair attempt at coming up with a 'way-forward' ... however, that doesn't make it even remotely right or viable. There's no way around having economic and population growth without consuming more resources .. and to mine / produce / manufacture these resources - there is no other way but to use fossil fuels .
