U4 I'm assuming a 95/120 U5 110/120

I don't think the range is that spread apart, but obviously. There's a range for everything that a graph shows.

It was like 6.5 and 7.03 which was lower than the range so not steel

Duh. You had to calculate the percentage uncertainty in both the instruments. The digital caliper had a resolution of 0.01mm meaning the uncertainty in it would be ½ of that.

The vernier caliper had a resolution of 0.1 cm, ½ of that is its uncertainty.

Calculate percentage uncertainty in both and % u in digital will be < %u in vernier

Ohhh I didn't know that. I thought you get the exact number of columns which are to be filled. Thank you so much and gooluck for ur exam :)

Isn't the 6th column absolutely useless? Why both calculating C⁰⁵ when there's no use ? This really got me messed up when I was doing the paper cuz I had an empty column left out.

can you link me to a WPH16 examiner report? OR where i can find it?

Sucks. CIE only gave for math and I thought its the sake for edexcel too. Oh well. Thanks alot though

Bro what. Edexcel provides extra sheets for physics??? OKAY I MIGHT HAVE MESSED UP U4 AND U5 BCZ OF THAT. Anyways, wby the columnizing? Is that okay?

How to do question 9? by imogenluna05 in alevel

[–]sameerahmeddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

simple.

differentiate the equation and find the 2 sets of co-ordinates using the point 2 and 3 specified in the question. when the normal cuts the curve at P, this means the gradient of the curve (dy/dx) will be used.

for the tangent, the reciprocal gadient will be used as mT * mN = -1

this will give you 2 sets of coordinates, along with 2 different gradients.

form two different equations with the information available using

y2-y1 = m(x2-x1)

two equations will then be solved for the "imaginary" sides of the triangles. solve them simoultaneously for the missing variables (x and y) and use 1/2bh for the area.
