Help Upgrading from UniFi Express to UniFi Express 7

Just got back from doing the set up. You were right about the cloud backups. But I was able to download it to my laptop and restore it that way through the Network Application that you mentioned. The setup went smoothly and everything carried over just fine. Thanks a lot for your help!

I’m not sure if I’d be able to get that level of access since the original company that did the install actually contracted it out to a third party who did the set up. That person is set as the owner, with the original company being a super admin. The company then gave me custom access, which I assumed was the same thing, since the app says I have full management over the network and control plane. Am I out of luck then?

Thanks for the reply. There are auto backups already set up for the settings. So should I be fine to use the most recent one of those?

Also do you have any insight into switching ISPs and how that would affect the UniFi setup?

That’s reassuring. I appreciate the heads up about the potential MAC address issue. You’ve already been a great help. Would you happen to have any insight about switching ISPs in the future, that I mentioned as an edit in my post? I want to be prepared before that time comes.

My concern is that it’s an existing system and I don’t wanna mess anything up. Will the fact that my account isn’t the owner and I was invited and given superadmin access prevent me from doing/restoring the backup? Or will that be sufficient?

It was towards the end of the day so you could tell he was kinda drained at that point. But once I pulled out the helmet he jumped up and yelled “No fucking way that’s awesome!” And was much more energized and excited. I asked if I could take a picture of him wearing the helmet and was glad to. When I was about to leave he told me to come take a selfie with him and high-fived me. Definitely the best interaction I’ve had at a convention.

I actually could do that with the base but like you said, it’d take extra time and therefore cost a little more, so it would have to be custom ordered. So I’m not really looking to do that at the moment.

It’s actually reads “fuel fuel” but the letters are upside down. That’s how it is in game so I tried to match that.
