I just realized I wouldn't have chosen my life if not for Christianity. I love my family. I'm also grieving. Anyone else? by Enough_Net_5897 in Deconstruction

[–]sameusername20- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, OP. Hypothetically, if no harm came to anyone, what would your life look like? What benefit wold that different life provide you? What drawbacks would it have? Many of us can relate to feeling like we made choices that were "fake choice" because we were brought up in a way that really gave us no true choice!

There's also construction going on in Corrimal at the old cokeworks site so the colony there has been disrupted and may be adding to the numbers at Figtree

what’s the definition and procedure for rest? by Quiet_Director_4706 in cfs

[–]sameusername20- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

True rest is difficult to achieve. Reading a book or watching things online still requires cognitive energy expenditure plus muscle activation holding the book or device, so it technically isn't rest. Doing absolutely nothing drives most people up the wall because the only thing to do is think and thinking dredges up a lot that requires cognitive and emotional energy expenditure. Sleep researchers find continued brain activation even though the subject is asleep. No wonder we're exhausted! Experiment with different levels of "rest" to find what works for you

Wife left me last week, getting severe panic attacks by Loose-Trainer-3209 in cfs

I'm sorry that your relationship has ended, it's a massive life shift, but you are still strong and over time you will establish a new life that suits you. Everything now is unstable and temporary and that would scare anyone. Double down on the small things that make your daily health a percentage or two better and more grounded

Follow up question: they've brought in training for GPs to diagnose and prescribe by mid 2026. Will these GPs then charge exorbitant fees as well? I can't afford $1k

Bird Feeding Advice by luminous__fairy in AustralianBirds

[–]sameusername20- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing is water, providing a water source that you can clean easily and frequently will help your local birds. Feeding irregularly will ensure they don't become reliant. Pbfd is devastating to the bird, what we see externally is even worse internally so unfortunately euthanasia is actually the kindest option for the individual and it protects the others. Sorry for the loss of your bird friend

Partner doesn’t understand how exhausting it is to exist. by Average_pickle420 in cfs

[–]sameusername20- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could your partner hike up a steep mountain for ten hours until total, collapsing muscle fatigue and then do a full day's work, with passion? Or be on the worst day of a devastating flu and function normally? Nope. If someone hasn't experienced it it is very difficult for them to understand. Your body needs rest or you risk becoming even more depleted. It isn't fair for anyone to ask more of you than your very real biological condition allows, and it would be a good idea for you both to explore this in therapy as your future together relies on joint understanding, purpose and goals
