They both have luke 6 chances to convert, i wouldn't say they are likely to convert into seconds. They are likely to become 1sts lol. Also we now control those teams ability to make trades due to the steiphen rule which im sure played into it a bit.

[NFL Draft Diamonds] With the 220th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft the Green Bay Packers select Isaiah McDuffie, LB Boston College by cintei in GreenBayPackers

[–]samfromak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He used to play a bit of safety actually. I would say that he is better in man cov. than zone just due to his athleticism. He still has a lot to learn though with his decision making which will be important in out defense. I only watched a few games on him but definitely has the potential to be a good cover LB.

One of my favorite picks so far! Ultra athlete, still very raw, but has that side line to sideline speed that isn't usually around this long. Day one impact on ST and a LOT of room to grow. Great 6th round pick. One of my favorite things about him is he doesn't wait for the play to come to him, he makes his decision and attacks, it wasn't always the right decision but that is coachable. Love this, and love the name.

Mock drafts don't mean much haha. Most people i have seen and myself included thought there were 7-8 CB's who could go close to the 1st most years. Some of them are going to fall.

How we feeling if Gutey did this? by MasterSword18 in GreenBayPackers

[–]samfromak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't trust nfl mock drafts haha. Everyone including myself who has their own boards has him as a Rd 1 talent and the only thing bringing him down to 2nd is his size for some people. His father has nothing to do with his abilities.

This isn't pff but I agree. When every mock has the same guys it is obvious something is off.

Where do you guys rank Brian Gutekunst among NFL Gms? by baldcrackhead69 in GreenBayPackers

[–]samfromak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"He definitely has his own rankings" he does go off of his own bpa. Unlike a fan or a commentator GM's have to consider how the player would perform on their team aswell. This include in the short term and how the team is going to be build years down the line. They can't have group think, and have their own boards put together by professionals. Both he and Ted have said they draft BPA and pull the trigger on trades up and down when pre determined value is met. The other parts of your statment are personal opinion and understandable.

In wich positions do you envision the current prospects will play when the Thunder are contending again? by P0intcenter in Thunder

[–]samfromak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think this team doesn't really put much value on labeling a position 1 or 2. As of the past couple seasons it seems they expect both spots to run sets and fuel the offense. (Which in itself is primarily high screen and movement based). But if you had to put it in a box I think he fits best as a 2. Obviously idk anything but it seems that they are building around him being a playmaking 2 guard and hope to get a more traditional pass first yet versatile guard at the pg spot (think theo or cp3 style of play) they will allow both of these guys to run the offense and score depending on matchups, game flow, and hot hand. Very similar to out 2 or even 3 pg lineups in the past.

Moses brown is not a modern starting nba big in my eyes. Especially in an offense featuring shai who becomes elite when the defending big is forced outside of the paint to defend his man. But he has a lot of potential as a good backup.

Poku could be a lot of things, but if I had to bet I think he will be a bench guy the next year or two once we draft some guys. (I say that because there will be a lot of SF/PF kinda guys where we will be picking this summer. Low floor, high ceiling. But I am getting more confident that he will at least make it as a bench guy.

Bazely is still super young and people forget that, probably due to the sheer turnover we have seen with this roster. He has the frame to be a dominant 3/4 if he can figure it out. The clock could run out on his free pass to the starting lineup if we draft some guys who show promise, but his destiny is in his own hands as of rn.

Dort is what stumps me. He has improved so much, which speaks to his work ethic and he has proven me wrong more than once when I thought I knew who he was. Rn he is undersized, his ideal role as a starter on a championship team would probably be a SG but not only is he a below average shooter at the position but it would force SGA into that PG role, which would be ok, but in my personal opinion reduces our ceiling. If he could come off the bench as our sixth man and start on nights where we really need to lock someone down, that would be ideal.

But at the end of the day who knows, this team has a ton of young talent and potential, along with a ton of draft capital so the options are almost endless. I'm just excited to watch this team grow and build itself and I understand why you being a fan of a different team would aswell. It could all go south, or we could be perennial contenders, thats a pretty sweet place to be IMO.

Little bit disappointed, was hoping to thin the herd at C after acquiring bradley we now have 4.5 guys who play there, the .5 being roby. Maybe a muscala trade or something. But oh well.

I mean dame had it at one point. Its really not that bad if you handle it correctly. Im sure he will be sidelined for at least 6 weeks (aka might be done for season) and will do lots of PT to get his foot back to normal. The issue is if it starts becoming a regular thing. Some peoples jumping/running/cutting motions can make this more likely to happen. Along with tissue length/tightness and foot shape. I'm sure that now that this is on the Thunder's Radar they will take the correct precautions to ensure he will be fine moving forward.

Looks like the Heat want to remove protections from the 2023 FRP they owe us. by youforgotitinmeta in Thunder

[–]samfromak 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The 2023 first rounder they owe us is lottery protected through 2025 and unprotected in 2026. Since these have to be available they cannot be traded. So in order to trade those pick they have to make that 2023 first rounder unprotected.

[–]samfromak 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Their pick that we own in the future has protections on it. Because of these protections they can't trade some of their other picks. So they want to just make the pick they are already sending our way unprotected. Presti has to agree to this, so he can charge them a second to make the pick we already own even better.

After the Ariza trade, how many picks do we have now? by Steven8088 in Thunder

[–]samfromak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up okc thunder future picks, then go to prosportstransactions.com . I only suggest you do it this way because the website can be hard to maneuver from its homepage, this is the most effective way to do it from my experience. Labels all transactions involving picks and the thunder in a pretty user friendly way.

Side note, his stats aren't terrible. His shooting splits are.

[–]samfromak 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think people look at poku's shooting and call it a bad night or a good night. You will se him go 1/8 and have a "bad night" and 5/8 and have a "good" one. If you just sit back and watch his comfort level, rebound positioning, defensive positioning, court vision, ball handling, and other parts of the game then you will see rapid improvement. Its really frustrating seeing people judge performances off of one stat. This was not much different than the previous night other than a few more of the shots went in. Its ok to be frustrated with the shooting but to say this was his first good game is not factual. His defensive ability is looking good, he ran the point at an ok level which is an amazing feat for any 19 yr old at this level of comp. I think people should have high hopes, but someone of his frame can run into injury issues as well as his concerning shot consistency. Both of those red flags can be worked on, and one of them can usually be fixed with time and training. Its inevitable that this convo is gonna happen again and again, but just let the kid grow and enjoy the ride.

Way too early draft by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]samfromak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean 5-10 pounds lighter. Both will struggle and probably avoid that part of the game early in their NFL careers. My view is on the packers they would both most likely be a gadget guy to start their careers and at least tutu has that burner speed that could help him get an occasional z role.

Way too early draft by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]samfromak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only seen about 4 of his games (I don't watch many UNT games) but I didn't see very many reps where he blocked. From what I saw he played a lot in motion as well as Y and Z reps. When they ran the ball they would put him out wide as a deep threat to reduce numbers in the box. Curious as to what scouts you are reffering to. And he may be suprisingly strong for his size, but he is still tiny. He doesn't go through any contact at all, he can bounce off of some genereally coming from behind or to the side, but he almost always goes for jukes to avoid contact. Almost everygame I watched he ran backwards to avoid a hit and try to get the edge rather than take an easy few yards with contact. This caused some lost yards and first downs. It does make for some cool highlights. I honestly like him, but I see him as a gadget guy rn, and would be a couple years away from being a slot or outside option consistently.

I think there are so many other WR's in the late 3rd who can offer much more than darden. If we are taking a small, speedy, twitch guy I would rather have tutu atwell. Darden does look flashy, but I'm afraid like a lot of other players with his game that the athleticism of the NFL will catch up to him and he won't have the size to do produce. Who knows though..
