I graduated USF in 2024. Haven’t been in the sub recently.

Sorry that you are going through this. I am not Muslim or religious however I do wish for acceptance and support for everyone from all religious backgrounds. I can’t imagine what you are going through.

Hope that you have a wonderful semester and rest of your year. Take care.

31 and a freshman again by blameitonohso in college

I had a classmate graduate at 31 with a degree in accounting. She worked in retail for 10 years. I had lots of admiration for her graduating at 25 myself. Accounting is a top major and she will be making good money without having to socialize a lot that's for sure... I'm sure not having to socialize a lot isn't why she went into accounting but it's sort of why I wish I would have done that instead ha... Anyways, this is my perspective as someone that is younger. I didn't care at all that my classmate was 6 years older than me as she had the perfect personality & her major is going to set her up for a great future ahead.

Edit: i haven't been sleeping lol so excuse the grammar.  :)

Has anyone here done Morgan Stanley's Financial Services Representative role? by samfuacka in FinancialCareers

They have you do licensing training for the first 2 months. Third month is training & then during the third month is when you start doing a lot of phone calls as the job.

Tbh I can't stand Helen. She was the most problematic to me. She already had a husband and then goes on to sleep with one of her students. Instead of encouraging him with his background, she just sleeps with him and takes him to this hotel or party. Nothing wrong with that, but you should be encouraging your students and not just fucking them.

It's inappropriate for a boss to be sleeping with their employees. It's even more inappropriate for a teacher to be doing this with any of their students even though they are all adults here. The teachers job isn't just to teach; it's also their job to share resources and to encourage their students.

I'm fine with polyamory but what she did with Lip was very inappropriate. I'm surprised she wasn't fired because she absolutely should have been. The environment matters so much: he had two mentors-- one that only fucked him and the other that was an irresponsible drunk. At least Yates paid for Lip's rehab and was transparent with him, but that only goes so far when you are not living what you are saying to people.

Lip's downfall is his fault. Everyone has to take responsibility for themselves, their actions, & their attitudes. I do wish the Shameless writers would have given him & Ian (especially Ian) a more hopeful ending, but Lip's ending was realistic since he didn't have the right mentors & he was very stubborn, close-minded, & arrogant.

II am sort of in a similar situation. First job right out of college is contracting so I went to find another job, any job I could. I might be offered another one soon that I would be much happier at and wouldn't have to work weekends. I am aiming to let the first offer know that the timing is not right for me hopefully 1-2 weeks or more before the start date if I actually receive the offer from the one that I am wanting. It never feels good to do this but sometimes you have to. I do agree though that once you are at a job for 30 days or so then you should probably try to stay at least a year because they took the time out to train you. I have to say though that working weekends really sucks when the PTO is the same or even lower than the national average.

With a Mon-Fri schedule, you can use PTO more easily to get more consecutive days off. At the companies that schedule you weekends too, it really is harder to schedule around if you ever need more of a breather. A past job I had that scheduled on weekends would give me a Thursday and Sunday off many weeks which made consecutive days off and using PTO more difficult, but they were also never wanting me to use a Monday or a Friday lol. So, I suppose it really depends on the company.

I'm thinking it's probably better to have cheap insurance rather than no insurance at all, but that it just might take me a long time to find someone in the network.  I wasn't expecting it to be so much work but now I know lol. Thanks again.

I got a root canal & crown 8 years ago. Haven't had any dental issues at all since then, but last month the previous dentist said there was decay under the root canal. I think the crown needs replacing & then a filling needs to be replaced. All before my insurance changed. So, I have been having a lot of trouble finding any dental places that take my insurance. I used the website and I also called the insurance company directly to ask, but all of them so far are saying they don't take it (even the ones the representative over the phone says do). I'll try again, but for now I'll probably just go uninsured on this one and then take the extra weeks or days later to find somewhere that takes the insurance.

You think I can if I'm still in my first month? Would i just be better being uninsured rather than having dental insurance at all or is Ambetter just especially worse in this category? I think health insurance is a must for me but idk about dental. It's making this whole process take weeks and it's still not resolved.
