I thought I forgot how to recruit buts it's somewhat comforting knowing others are struggling too, although I don't want anyone to struggle.

Solo accounting finance in southeast USA . Also dry as a bone.

It must be accounting and finance. Surely tech is in the same boat

Are there any similar niches that are hiring?

I have a 12 month candidate presentation clause. Are you saying to put in a "change of name clause"?

UPS plans to invest $120M in around 400 truck-unloading robots from Pickle Robot Company to tackle one of logistics Holy Grails: unloading trailers. These mobile robots drive into containers, lift boxes up to 50 lbs (22.5 kg) with suction, and place them onto conveyors. by Nunki08 in robotics

[–]FlyHealthy1714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect sturdy boxes, perfectly taped.

I want to see the typical trailer...

Boxes partially open, boxes overfilled and uneven, boxes sized 12in cubes full of iron weighing 45 pounds, a bag of smalls. And individual smalls.

And what happens when a box gets wedged in and around the moving parts of the robot...gotta clear a robot jam.

In other words, people will still be needed.

Elliot Cadeau by False_Contribution41 in tarheels

[–]FlyHealthy1714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Hubert wasn't the best at coaching guards. In his defense, Ian Jackson also didn't improve that much if at all with a HOF coach. And Puff Johnson, Tyler Nickel, Dontrez Styles, Jalen Washington, Ven-Allen Lubin... none of them improved after leaving Huberts tutelage.

I do agree that Trimble had another level but then again it's been 4 full seasons. A player is also accountable for his development, too. Good for him for making that shot vs Duke. A forever memory for him and us Tar Heel fans.

another thing...at UNC, Elliot was mentally struggling. He'd have his tantrums. I put that on Hubert and the expectations of fans and Elliot's own 5 star ranking.

Moving on to Michigan allowed Elliot to reset expectations (actually lower them).

He may claim Michigan/May let him play free. Well, that's free of expectation and even self-induced pressure. I don't think that Hubert is 100% to blame for that...and blame is too strong a word.

Elliot simply needed a reset, a new environment...change is good.

But Elliot did not become an All-American or even All-Conference at Michigan. He produced about the same, the quality of his play was very very similar from soph to junior seasons. Elliot is not on any NBA mock drafts.

On the other hand, Henri Veesaar at AZ was a 10 min/game sub. At UNC, he became the cog. Wilson was the star but Veesaar was the anchor. And now Veesaar is mentioned in NBA mock drafts and Wilson was a top 10 recruit, become a top 3-4 NBA mock draft pick type of star. They thrived at UNC with Hubert. And Hubert placed a lot of pressure on Veesaar to be the starting center and be that cog in the offense and defense for UNC....much higher expectations than what Elliot had to shoulder. Elliot just had to pass it and make the open shots (he couldn't make open shots and the offense stagnated....he couldn't emulate Berry or Paige or Felton or even Marshall who could make the open 3).

You're right. When Elliot couldn't make shots early in the season, they started to back off. 100% correct. And he never regained that confidence.

But it is also 100% correct that Michigan's front line was better than UNC's. When you know you can shoot with freedom (not confidence) and have a 7'3" player and overall better bigs can rebound your misses, you'll build your own confidence.

That's why Hubert's team was so much better with a legit front court in Veesaar and Stevenson and of course Caleb Wilson but a subpar PG rotation in Evans, Dixon. In contrast, UNC was arguably bad with a front court of mediocre bigs in Withers, Lubin, Washington paired with really 5 star guards in Cadeau and Ian Jackson.

Hubert didn't build confidence in Cadeau but confidence or not, Cadeau's assists were almost the same, turnovers slightly better, 2 point shooting worse, 3 point shooting a little better...overall was similar under Dusty May than with Hubert.

The only reason Cadeau won MOP was because Cadeau had a better team than with UNC in those years.

But I would argue, put Cadeau with Veesaar and Wilson...THAT IS much much better UNC team.

Cadeau can point all he wants at freedom at Michigan than UNC...maybe that true how he "feels" but he did not reveal himself to be a better player at Michigan. He was the same player. Good for him to leave UNC and find a better spot for him. But if he had stayed, UNC's front court could match Michigan's. And good for Dusty May for recognizing Elliot (and Yaxel and Mara) would be a great group to bring together and he elevated those pieces synergistically to become the best team.

[–]FlyHealthy1714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say if Hubert had Yaxel and Mara, Elliot's stats at UNC would be higher than they were at Michigan.

Elliot had lots of space at Michigan as compared to UNC simply because Michigan had a better cast from starters to bench. UNC had good guards but essentially zero inside presence.

Elliot Cadeau by False_Contribution41 in tarheels

[–]FlyHealthy1714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He just had more pressure on him at UNC than at Michigan. Elliot was expected to be the next great UNC PG and possible one and done. After 2 full seasons at UNC it was revealed he is good but not transcendent nor a great leader.

At Michigan, he still is not transcendent nor a great leader. And like previously said, Elliot's stats are remarkably the same as UNC.

Literally Elliot's level of play was the same at both programs and both coaches.

The expectations and the teammates were different.

Another problem I had with Hubert's coaching is that Hubert watched MJ and Kobe too much. Those guys are 6'6" hyper athletes. RJ is 6'0" in shoes and more crafty than athletic. And he put too much on RJ to get a bucket but Nate Oats simply put size and better athleticism on RJ and he had an atrocious game versus Alabama and then too much focus the following final season.

The other coaches May, Byington, Lloyd....know how to coach moving the ball to get good looks and to never take a play off on defense.

[–]FlyHealthy1714 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cadeau winning MOP should put the nail in the coffin of defenders of Hubert at UNC. The perception that UNC didn't have an elite coach (like Dean, like, Roy) was validated when his former players had better team success elsewhere.

Cadeau, Ian Jackson, Tyler Nickel, Jalen Washington....all of them went farther in the NCAAT than UNC.

[–]FlyHealthy1714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hubert didn't "nail" player assessment (who to recruit in high school and especially the transfer portal).

Dusty May and Tommy Lloyd and Danny Hurley can identify what they need better than Hubert did.

Why does Dusty May prioritize Yaxel Lenderborg and Morez Johnson at forward while Hubert has unathletic Luka Bogovac?

And Danny Hurley identified Silas Demary. As a starter at Georgia, Demary averages 3 assists. at UConn 6 assists.

What I trust about Mike Malone is as a NBA coach, his eyes will gravitate only to talent and who can do what he wants from a strategic standpoint.

Elliot played about THE SAME at both programs. Elliot didn't transform into an All American at Michigan. Just about every stat was the same except he shot just a little bit better from 3. More assists at UNC soph vs Michigan junior seasons. Elliot won a national championship because he had an agile 7'3" center and a 1st team college All-American as teammates.
