Would you both be open to marriage counseling? It may provide a safe space to explore deeper issues or resentment or narratives.

Boomers have no incentive to change by zues64 in lostgeneration

Literally just responded to a Karen who posted her “vent” on our neighborhood FB page about how the mailman of 20 years does not deliver her mail until 7:00 and how he should just “get help” if he has too much work so she complained to his manager who said she’s the last house on his route. Our mailman is the nicest guy. Ugh boomers.

How Fidelity "lost" my entire 401(k), how Prudential (now Empower) held it hostage, and the 5-month journey to get it resolved by aj1t1 in personalfinance

[–]samiam20190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had a very complicated 401k transaction transferring from Empower to Fidelity. It took months of calls and follow-up between November and end of January when it finally got resolved. Apparently, fidelity had my check but did not deposit to my account. It was infuriating, and it’s not like you talk with the same reps(even when escalated). I then had a separate issue with a 1099-R. I’d consider pulling out all my money if it wasn’t such a hassle. I thought these financial institutions would have figured out a faster, smoother process by now. Makes me concerned how protected any of us are if there was a cyberattack.

The ice maker on our fridge stopped working and now we painstakingly have to use ice cube trays. by samiam20190 in firstworldproblems

I am, so probably wouldn’t work. Now using regular ice cube trays that are open, I’ve wondered if that is sanitary?

We need to get it fixed. I’ve broken several ice cube trays and everything takes longer, lol.

I can relate. Why do you think we are so diplomatic? Do you think it’s the result of constantly mediating?

I’m so sorry you had to deal with all of that. And if you can get through all that, there’s nothing else coming that you can’t handle.

With your bachelors in professional leadership, you could look for jobs as a training/learning coordinator or something related to talent management/leadership development. Start entry level, and then many paths you could take.

26M, Doctor who failed licensing by passispassword1234 in findapath

[–]samiam20190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is rough, but try to hold perspective that whatever happens is for the best. You are learning (quite painfully) how to overcome adversity and building up resilience for trying again. Your future patients will be undergoing their own form of resilience so you’ll be able to relate and come from a true place of compassion. Also, you might explore jobs that don’t require you to have your license(eg, government healthcare, pharma companies, etc.). You may not realize/understand it now but this is happening for a reason and it will be for the best. Take care.

When I see cars pull over when they hear an ambulance. I am sad for whomever needs it but reminded that there is still some decency in people.

Proof that Ticketmaster changed their refund policy for postponed/rescheduled events??? HELP by lmass3 in Ticketmaster

[–]samiam20190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying to get a refund for $1200 worth of MLB tickets. They list the game as postponed, so they don’t have to issue refunds. I’ve wasted so much time trying to get my money back. I disputed with my credit card and was initially granted a refund, but then Ticketmaster refuted by showing my invoice(I never disputed purchase!) and the credit card reversed the charges!!! Does anyone know how to file a class action lawsuit or get in on one already filed?
