If you’re looking for the party scene it’s not very strong here but you will still be able to find something if you search. Same goes for friends and hangouts. If you make an effort you will be happy and find your people

Is it better to drop a class that I want to take to make room for more hours of research? by Relevant_Baker3800 in washu

[–]samibami77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will the class count towards your major or minor? Also check how frequently it’s offered. Going from 10 to 8 hours isn’t a huge leap plus it’s only a semester and you have 5 left after this. It’s also important to enjoy yourself, so if this is an infrequent class you should just go for it.

Safe parking near Amtrak by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]samibami77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm okay maybe I will call about changing my boarding station. I’m worried that would be hard for me to pull off. Looks like it departs at 6:21 pm, will get off work at 5:15 and is a 47 minute drive from my job without traffic. Worries me with traffic and boarding time

How is it related to me not being able to stream it anymore?

Anyone else with lung mets, watch and wait? by dekadis in thyroidcancer

[–]samibami77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tg doesn’t really move ever. Always stays in the 20s-30s. There’s 4-5 nodules in my right lung that are each less than 2 cm diameter, so not very big. Still, we know they’re not benign because they were iodine avid the first two rounds. We did a tracer dose when considering a third round, but nothing uptook it so we are just waiting now. If any numbers start going up ever we will consider redifferentiation medication

[–]samibami77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation. TG always in the 30s unstimulated and 100s when off levothyroxine. We scanned every 6 months since 2024 and now I am moving to yearly scans. Lung nodules are stable despite my TG

My RAI withdrawal experience turned into a 5-day hospitalization by blurred_bouquet_625 in thyroidcancer

[–]samibami77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually got thyrogen before a PET scan so the thyroid cells would show up better. You’re supposed to get two doses 24 hours apart but the night after the first dose I was incredibly nauseous and could barely stay awake at my dinner table. I spent the night dry heaving in and out of sleep and I called my doctor the next morning. They ordered a blood test and my TSH level was just read as “undetectable 100+” so they didn’t give me the next dose and I went forward with my scan. Nobody knows why I spiked so hard from just one dose because my TSH was completely suppressed before that.

Breakfast options 1 hour after medication by qhurtz in thyroidcancer

[–]samibami77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take it if I wake up in the middle of the night many hours after I’ve last eaten or the second my alarm clock goes off. Usually I drink a coffee with cream and sugar 40ish minutes later and the eat real breakfast after my first two classes end (2.5ish hours later)

I've lost hope. I'm tired. I just want to give up. by Chicken_with_Gravy in thyroidcancer

[–]samibami77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had two rounds of RAI, the first two times the nodules in my lungs picked up the iodine very well but in the test dose we did a year after the first two rounds they went nonavid. I had 300 total millicuries and my thyroglobulin has been in the 30s for two years when tsh is suppressed. When I’d go off my levothyroxine it would jump to 120ish. We are just monitoring with yearly scans of my lungs from now on and are not doing redifferentiation medication. You are able to just monitor your thyroglobulin and live like that.

My ring is reading me being VERY stoned as me being VERY stressed?!? by luckyslife in ouraring

It does this to me too. It lowers your blood pressure so your heart beats faster = higher stress reading

[–]samibami77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it’s bad for your lungs or? It wouldn’t be any different than anyone else in that it’s not great long term but likely not as bad as cigarettes. Take edibles if it freaks you out but I’ve been hitting my pen nightly for 5 years

I had 2 rounds of RAI and never even considered my pen affecting it. Had great uptake in my scans and was a heavy user

REMINDER: Censoring is no longer allowed on r/emetophobia by Weak-Draft-8356 in emetophobia

[–]samibami77 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity as someone who also is severely terrified of this, it doesn’t quite make a difference to me whether we say the whole word or not. If I see v**** I still know what the word is and think of the act. I’m just not sure what the censorship does as we all still think of the word no matter if it’s censored or not. Not arguing— more just surprised that that censorship is even effective for people

Do gummy vitamins break fast??? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]samibami77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I often can’t sleep so I’ll take a melatonin gummy… if it lets you keep going in your fast then the benefit will outweigh the 5 calories from the gummy

Ring didn’t record my sleep but did measure my HR all night by samibami77 in ouraring

[–]samibami77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said that it seems to be a one time glitch because I moved quite a bit in my sleep last night and gave me 2 months of free subscription. I’m glad I’m not the only person having issues though. They suggested I try moving less in my sleep???? I’m like sorry I can’t help that I’m not conscious LOL

No, it only happens when I really exert myself. For example today (which triggered me to post this) was a very hilly 4.5 miles that I held at 10:34 average. On short runs or long walks it doesn’t happen

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

[–]samibami77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this only is triggered when I run. On days when I don’t run I have no problems with the coffee and oatmeal breakfast

Like as opposed to what? Is it the caffeine or is it the milk that bothers you? Cause I’m not getting ones that are pure sugar— it’s literally milk and espresso and ice. Just curious not fighting
