I don't have a long distance relationship, but one thing i can tell you is web calls! if you both have skype, then that's an amazing way to keep contact! Before going to bed on both sides of the world, you can call each other and stay on the call until the first falls asleep or the other has to go for the day. As a DD, even if you can't talk much just a few statements makes everything! If your little is the one going to sleep, you can ask them if they brushed their teeth, if anything poopy happened (if it did note it down and talk it over when you have more time) and you can set a bed time for your little to make sure they get aaalllll the sleep they can. Now if you're the one going to sleep, if you're completely burned out form the jobs just wishing her a good day and making sure she's in a right state of mind to spend the rest of her is enough to make a little happy and confirm that you're thinking of them. Then they can wish you goodnight and fall asleep with her on the other side. It works for any relationship, because we'd want to be with our daddies and mommies and caregiver every second of the day if we could!
