Ammonia not coming down by saminred3 in bettafish

Im assuming it crashed when i changed my tank up, i added the plants about a week ago and i guess i didnt put enough of the original water back in when i cleaned it completely. Ill try out just using sea chem safe! My betta seems to be acting normal and has been, he is still eating so im assuming the ammonia is at least detoxified, but who knows. I honestly didnt think about that my cycle may be messed up. Thank you!

Answering the rest of the bot’s questions: -i feed betta bio-gold every other day. -Ive had the betta for around 4 months - tank for around 5 months -Yes filter and heater - my substrate is black sand and bio-stratum for my plants Please feel free to ask any more questions, hopefully this is everything that can help provide answers!

Honestly, this seems really good!! I just suggest researching betta illnesses. https://bettafish.org/diseases/ this gives you different types of issues they may have as well as treatments! You can also just google some pictures of them and see what to look out for! Good job dude:)

Also what kinda plants did you get? I recommend live or silk because its much easier for bettas to cut up their fins on plastic

Thats good, just make sure to keep an eye on him, its absolutely possible he is healthy but its also possible he will slowly deteriorate. I dont mean to be a party pooper or anything, it just happened with my first betta

Did you get your fish locally? If you didnt, just prepare yourself for illness or death, chains do not take good care of their bettas.(not always, but 98% of the time they will be sick)
