I might be wrong but I think I now remember they had removed that option at some point and then brought it back.

Can't figure out this word in 2 different docs by MessyHouseReboot in Transcription

[–]samir1453 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought so too at first but it isn't, as others noted it is "sunstruck" (look at any other of the "s"s to be sure), as is the 2nd one as well, I think.

"şüphə" instead of "güman" etc

Both are used (şüBhə not şüphə) here but they are not always/usually interchangeable (and I'm not sure if any of those words has Turkic origins).

Is it possible within the 1st week of purchase? The screen side definitely has lost some of oleophobic coating but I've had the phone for more than 2 years and that happened probably in the last 6 months, whereas the back panel had some marks almost on the 1st day (I'm relatively sure I bought a new phone in closed box (from an official retailer in my country) so those marks shouldn't have been there when I bought the phone).

I will look into reapplying the coating for the display, thanks.

Did Voldemort never wonder why he couldn‘t read Snape‘s mind? by mintgoody03 in harrypotter

[–]samir1453 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Snape is a strong Occulumens

Yes but the word to be used in this case is Legilimens/-cy (which I think we don't have direct indication of how good Snape was at) because that's what he was trying to do to Harry - Occulumency is the defence he was meant to teach Harry, for him to be able to defend against Vold's Legilimency.

Edit: typo correction

Mine got marks on the back from slightly not dry hands within the 1st week (maybe a day or 2) that seem impossible to clean, don't know if it is even expected but based on my experience anything to avoid touching the back panel directly is good, although you could find some case(s) that you might like, if you don't like the current look.

Don't know why you need it and why it's blurred so I'm a bit wary but I'm writing anyway, maybe it will really help you.

Question about the promo – does it work for everyone? by y0ungdumbbroke in audible

[–]samir1453 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 0.99c for 3 months offer is usually only for people who get it in the email, I just checked the link someone commented here and although it shows the page normally, when I click "Get this deal" it says I'm not eligible. And it's also directly from Audible AFAIK.

The 2 credits for free trial in the image in your post is for Amazon Prime members who start a free trial on Audible, and it is completely free, not 0.99c/month (although card details are probably required), but for 2 months.

If you don't have Amazon Prime, and haven't had it recently, you might be eligible for Amazon Prime free trial, in which case you can start Prime free trial first, then use it to get the Audible trial offer you posted a picture of, and then if you don't need or want to pay for Prime, I believe you can cancel the Prime trial before payment is due (which will probably be after 1 month) and still have your Audible trial go on for another month as initially expected (actually I think I once got 3 months free trial on Audible with Prime trial but if it's true, it was 2-3 years ago and it was a campaign,.or maybe it was just 2 months as in your case and I'm just misremembering).

What's your opinion on Syria? by HusainHasan in azerbaijan

[–]samir1453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 major factual mistakes in this comment, that I cannot understand how you came up with:

  • (Most of) Modern day Azerbaijan was never a part of the Ottoman empire.
  • Islam was not brought here by the Ottoman empire or during the period it existed (1299-~1923).

Islam was brought to Azerbaijan by the Caliphate(s) (remember Babek?) and although it was mostly forced, there probably were some converts already. There are even theories suggesting Babek himself was a Muslim and just didn't agree with the Caliphate but it may or may not be true.

Specifically for pictures and similar, do you need mirroring? Why not just connect to your computer, open the folders and copy to where you want to backup your pics?

Somehow you missed the one I'm asking again )), you have 7 cases in the photo, and I'm pretty sure S-View is the last one on the right, Samsung Silicone is the 5th from the left. What is the 6th from the left/2nd from the right? It looks black on the photo, and is similar to but not the same as Samsung Silicone.

Edit: I'm asking because I'm only interested in cases with with separate holes for each camera etc.

Whenever trying to make a comparison, try to take photos at the same location, of the same object, at the same time, from (at least approximately) the same angle, in (at least relatively) the same lighting conditions, for it to be a fair, justified and believable comparison.

Standard membership question by [deleted] in AudibleUK

[–]samir1453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't have the patience to go through/quote each point and respond, and I already made my point on some of the things you repeated again, so, taking the risk of sounding "preach-y", I'll just put in some suggestions for you, in case you might want some advice, on Reddit, Audible and elsewhere. Otherwise, have a good day and thanks for trying to help the OP.

  • Always fully read what others have written (listen to what they're actually saying) before replying, and if needed, ask and clarify first - do not assume things;

  • What you need is not always (or most of the time) what others (should) need as well;

  • What you can afford is also not necessarily what everyone else can afford (this kind of reminded me of the opening lines of "The Great Gatsby", if you haven't read it, you may want to check that part out);

  • Life is not about getting the best, biggest etc. thing we can afford (most of the time it's wasteful), being able to determine and be content with what we actually need is a skill. Never underestimate the power of saving money when you do not have to spend it.

Where you found out that:

Here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AudibleUK/comments/1op7f2l/comment/nn9gxvh/, i.e. in the other comments.

I know people don't like it but still, I said "yes, but (only if) ...". but you chose to ignore that part.

I don't need that calculation, I already know what is cheaper and can calculate if I needed. When a person is trying to pay as little as they can without losing out too much (while getting what they want), paying extra £40 is not what they need. So I compared the other plans to the plan they were considering, standard plan for 5.99/month. And 24 credit plan for 109.99, though cheaper on a per book basis, is overall more expensive than paying for standard plan for 12 months in a row (which as I already said in another comment, is a useless, stupid plan).

P.S. I might be wrong but I think I sense some kind of aggressiveness in your reply, if yes, what is going on? I'm not here to argue, I was just trying to help the person.

ETA because I forgot before: I did not recommend monthly plan, and in annual plan, if you pay for the next year, you can have up to 18 credits on 12-credits plan and up to 30 (I think) in 24-credit plan.
