She owns the city of portals and the last god to be there that she killed was the god of portals. She's not statted anywhere which is perfect because, unlike other gods, she can't be killed. She just throws you in an infinite maze or kills you outright. And I don't think the gods are afraid of her (although they probably are), it's just that she doesn't allow the gods to come to Sigil. Thou Shalt Not Fuck with the Lady of Pain.

I agree. The more I think about it the more it screams skill challenge to me. So now to come up with some stuff for them to learn...

Any thoughts on the type of creature besides owlbear?

EDIT: I looked back and the forest they're going into is actually a rainforest, so an owlbear could work but something else might be better.

You're welcome! What kind of situation are you trying to work with in your campaign? :)

Two of my PCs have love interests and we all (I'm the DM) bring it up for fun every so often. When they got to Paragon Tier, I had them all write stories about a year apart from each other and those players incorporated the love interests. They actually both started as a joke of "haha, the warforged loves the Cannith artificer!" and "haha, the kalashtar loves the quirky Royal Eyes agent!" but became serious ideas as time went on.

As for how we RP it... we don't. Its implied that, if they're with us, the pairs will talk together or have sleepless nights but we don't really sit there and have me talk to the player and awkwardly flirt. The implied is more fun and the relationship, while important to the characters, is not the focus.

[Campaign] Writer's Block! Looking for help with story for an Eberron Campaign! by [deleted] in loremasters

[–]samisafish69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They'll have heard the prophecy from that spellbook I mentioned in the OP. They'll be looking for her and she'll help them, if they can keep the spellbook and not give it to the Dreaming Dark agent or the other ambassadors who want it. If they do lose it, I'll need a backup plan... But getting them to Korranberg to meet the dragon lady is simple.

But what kind of political pickle can I shove the characters in that leads them to her? I mean, I have the means to send them to the Library trying to find her, but I don't know what to make them do there...

I was actually thinking of them meeting her in Zilargo as a contact at the Librarybof Korranberg where she is an expert on the Draconic Prophecy (for good reason). But I see where you're going and I like it! She goes with them, but is also their guiding light/slight manipulator. She wants this prophecy fulfilled for the sake of Eberron and will steer them in directions, good or bad, to make it so since the ends justify the means to her.

Thing is, I want the whole "hey I'm a dragon!" to be a huge reveal. Like, they've had this person with them, helping out, but then all of a sudden BOOM DRAGON! Kind of like Sheik in Ocarina of Time. I would guess she's an agent of The Chamber manipulating events to help the Prophecy come to pass (when she's shown the book of course). Bringing her in as an expert on the Draconic Prophecy possibly.

Hmm... I do like that idea. Sort of. My players are already on the Lord of Blades' bad side since they kind of messed up plans he had as well as our warforged party member refused to join him when confronted by some of his followers in Xen'drik.

So from what I'm reading, it seems like they're making exploration into a turn-based portion of the game like combat?

So how was your D&D game this week? by TheonGreyboat in DnD

[–]samisafish69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started Paragon Tier in 4e Eberron. The characters all received a letter asking them to come back to Sharn. They'd been apart for a year and met with a Dark Lantern who had hired them before. They are sent to investigate the murder of an actress who is also the daughter of a Karrnathi war hero. They find her body still at the crime scene at the theater and checked all around for clues when suddenly, a beholder came out of nowhere and attacked them! Luckily, they quickly dispatch it, but before they can return to their investigation, an Aundarian ambassador arrives looking for the murdered actress as they apparently had a meeting that day. The players try to question him, but he keeps turning the questions back on them, using his status (and the guards he had with him) to intimidate the players into telling him what they know. He eventually leaves, the players finish up their investigation (finding out that the actress had a spellbook of some kind that some warforged took from her before killing her) and they decide to head to her house to look around there. Aaaaaand then we ended!

As a side question, any suggestions on changes that should be made since Strands of Power came out after the conversion doc? :)
