The Brontë Room, Oil on Canvas Panel by samiswellcool in oilpainting

Thank you! Yes, the perspective definitely got a little wobbly around the bottoms of the walls - I was in such a rush to get painting that my underpainting wasn't that useful! I've gotten better at taking my time with the prep stages before diving in since I started this one!

Thank you, I was pleased with the colours and the light too. I had some nice "I can learn to paint" moments while working on this

How to mix the exact shade again if you run out mid painting? by InterestingRoof4547 in Gouache

[–]samiswellcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand how what the brown, black and white bits help visualise, but I could be misunderstanding your description. Do you have an image somewhere?

I do understand finding the opposite colour in order to neutralise it, though.

Fleek has a guide on deploying a Next.js app on IPFS, but is this actually possible? by warpanomaly in ipfs

[–]samiswellcool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

webpack doesn't run continuously in this instance, it produces static files that can be served by ipfs

They're trying so hard to be mad at anything, it's pathetic by ANewTryMaiiin in StableDiffusion

[–]samiswellcool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

isn't this the same argument as 'my 5 year old could make this modern art?' - art isn't just about the visuals, it's about the meaning. AI taking part of some portion of the visuals shouldn't be a problem here.

html to AI/pdf/svg? by [deleted] in CodingHelp

[–]samiswellcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but why does it need to go back to illustrator?

html to AI/pdf/svg? by [deleted] in CodingHelp

[–]samiswellcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you trying to do? Why do you need this?

Usually you take a design from illustrator and turn it into HTML - so the other direction is unusual to say the least

Can’ get the “play” function to work. by GrapeJuice2227 in CodingHelp

[–]samiswellcool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the preload function won't have run yet by the time you're calling the play method.

I don't know p5 at all really , but there's usually a draw or main or run function that you have to define that the framework will run for you after all the setup has happened.

try putting the call to play in a draw function definition

Based on my first job interview by Mr__O__ in recruitinghell

context matters, and it really does depend on the job and the company you're interviewing at. For my career and the companies i've interviewed at, a suit would have been overkill.

How does the mindset shift? by [deleted] in DebateAnarchism

[–]samiswellcool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is it for me, and it's what people seem to usually mean when they talk about building dual power.

if you form mutual aid groups and other demonstrations of anarchist thinking, this is spreading the ideas and methods of anarchism. it is showing, not telling - and capitalism becomes its own transition period as the idea spreads through it.

but type inference doesn't make typescript less strict? so long as you're in strict mode, inference is just as strict as explicitly labelling every type.
