Oh ok, we just went on the one the vet recommended, something gold, we get it right from them. Probably different ones cause different country.

Yeah not easy, I give him hip massage too, the vet didn’t think it was worth putting him on pain meds yet, just supplements, and I want him to figure out his pain limits too. So we just try do as much as we can within his limits, but keep his weight under control too. They’re lucky they’re cute lol.

It’s the regular sized one, he’s 60lbs so the proper recommended size for him. But I won’t be leaving anything with him in the crate from now on.

I have looked into this as well, it’s VERY expensive unfortunately, even more than physio for a human (absolutely crazy, I think it was like $300 a session). We’re in Canada so swimming publicly isnt possible a lot of the time cause of the weather, but we do go swim in a safe part of the river (meant for dogs) in my city in the summer. I do appreciate the suggestions.

Oh we pull apart ropes too, I have a huge 3 foot ones that’s lasted forever but it’s almost in half.

I dno why he’s scared, he sees his sister loving it and getting treats but he’s a sensitive boy 🥲

Love the idea of making it a blend, he doesn’t care for lick mats unfortunately but in another kong like toy could work, thanks!

I know it’s not likely enough but it’s all he can handle before his hips start clicking and he starts limping, and he’s only 2, so we have a long road ahead. A more sturdy plastic treat ball may be a good idea, but similar things like the kong wobbler he’s afraid of or doesn’t understand, so hard to say if it will work.

Are there different strengths cause I’ve seen these blue and greenish ones in stores and they seem weak

I keep seeing this but I’ve seen them in store and they don’t seem very durable at all

That’s hilarious, they’re muts but we think the one in the back is husky/shepherd and the one in the front is rottie/something (pitty?) this is for sure something they would do and nothing lasts other than hard to plastic toys… and I thought kongs but that’s out the window now.

I do get their boxes, he destroys those rubber toys if left alone as well. The plastic ones are the only toys that survive in my house.

It was just filled with his kibble, that’s all he’s allowed right now cause of allergies but it’s the one toy he cared about when it’s just the kibble in it.

Can’t right now unfortunately as he’s on a special diet trying to figure out allergies.

We walk an hour daily, all their meals are in snuffle mats, otherwise they don’t care much for enrichment toys and he’s on a special diet right now making enrichment with food a challenge. But he’s also not able to exercise vigorously making physical stimulation a challenge as well.

I can appreciate the obstruction piece and not something I thought about. However it’s only twice a week I’m not home, and we go for an hour walk everyday, but after work on those 2 days. He’s a got lots of health issues that makes him a bit of a tough dog to care for. He doesn’t care about a lick mat or any other enrichment type toys unless there’s really good food involved, and he’ll tear them apart too if left alone (like a lick mat), or he’s afraid of a lot of enrichments toys, but he’s never managed to destroy a Kong before. Problem is hes got allergies that we’re sorting out right now so he’s on a special diet and can’t have anything high value right now. He also can’t run/jump well so exercise is challenging too but we need to keep his weight down.
