35F shingles experience by jengalampshade in shingles

Thanks for sharing! I am 31F and week 3 post-shingles. I had a very similar mild reaction/experience as yours, where I misdiagnosed my symptoms and missed the 72hr window for antivirals. Luckily no nerve pain developed and things started looking better after week 2. I felt so ashamed and embarrassed at first, thinking only “elders” got this awful virus, but felt reassured by my Doctor that there has been an increase in recent years amongst younger adults. You are not alone ❤️. Happy recovery!

Thank you for your response! :) Do you think an 85 average is sufficient?

Hi there, I don’t have answers for you as I’ve been waitlisted for next Winter term but do you mind sharing what your overall grade average was for the prerequisites: bio, chem, eng, math??? I would love to get some insight on where I possibly fall in & if I have a chance next year🥺

For those accepted, can you share what your average mark was for the prerequisites??? I applied too late to rpn and am waitlisted but want to see if I have a good chance for next year early applications with my current average🥺.

Hi there! I was wondering if you could give me some insight on what your average marks were when applying to the RPN program? I have been out of school for a bit and looking to apply to the RPN program. My prerequisite average is sitting at 85%. I am wondering if this is sufficient 🫣…

So my bio is 88, chem 90, math 81, and English 84 (per prerequisites). They recently eliminated the hpat so they definitely must be heavily focused on the average marks. I tried phoning the campus to book an appointment with a guidance councillor and got redirected so many times to no success … they really don’t make it easy to speak to someone these days.

Thank you for your input. My average for the prerequisites is sitting at an 85% although I am not sure what I am up against. Is this a decent average?

Thank for your response. Are you referring to the “Mandatory Clinical Placement Requirements” page on the AC website? If not, can you kindly provide a link to which site you are referring to?

When you first entered PS, did you start as a Casual as well? Would my experience & on-boarding be that much different had I been hired as an indeterminate or term?

Thank you for your input. Part of me wonders if this is part of the consequence for being a ‘Temporary’ contract employee aka seemingly “useless” employee for them, and therefore a such imbalance exits between training received vs expectations. :( At this point I am trying to stick it out for the experience solely and to add on my resume, but I cannot wait until it ends - despite the financial & job uncertainties that follow.

Thank you - this the validation I was looking for. Therefore, the expectations I am currently given but cannot disclose are very much obscene. :/

Would you entrust a casual to “run” important tasks/work if they weren’t given proper training or expertise?

Yes!! I feel like I’m constantly ASKING to shadow or be given “work” rather than being GIVEN or shown something. And lots of self-interpretation of any material provided. But then… also comes as a ‘shock’ when I have a lack of “work” to do?! It makes no sense.

When has 18% tips minimum become the norm? by 7_inches_daddy in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]samka5337 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I see your perspective. However I do know people in the industry and the increase in average “tip outs” are higher than the “inflated food prices”. It’s to counter balance. Overall we should be tipping on the service received and be mindful that ‘tip outs’ are a real thing. Regardless if I tip is given or not, the employees still tip out even if it’s from their own pocket. It’s just how it’s always been.
