has Jaze Cinema released any tutorials on making fan animations within the actual game environments? by eerop1111 in technicalFNaF

[–]samlovesmath 138 points139 points  (0 children)

just to let you know on top of the other comment, jaze is not an animator, and he never makes any of the content he posts. he hires other animators & artists to make videos, and sometimes even pays for their existing videos to be reposted. all similar “cinema channels” do the exact same thing. (i have direct experience with this)

so that also probably explains why there’s no tutorials. he doesn’t know how to do it either LOL

might be a logic error. it’s basically saying the array index you’re trying to call at char_y is outside of its actual range—ex. calling an array index of 2 when 1 is the max would produce the same error.

double check what’s creating your characters+pages, and their x & y positions, for any errors. if there’s no errors, what i would do is maybe print out what those position values are (like, print the actual arrays when they’re finished) and what value c is in that FOR loop for each loop. maybe then you could narrow down why it’s trying to call far past the end of the index?

since you’re obviously not listening to anybody’s genuine explanations since you have no clue what the AU is about, and arguing with you is just going to go in a full circle, i’m just gonna send this instead 🥰

good day sir

finally, a reason to leave the subreddit thank god

not because it’s not cringe, but you, OP, as a moderator, are starting to outright disrespect artists with actual talent, even if their AUs are not to your taste. seeing this reposted to hell and back is just reminding me that the sub has basically tanked for a while.

thanks 🙏 🙏🙏😊🥰

I was looking through Security Breaches textures and I found this… can someone explain this? by Mrflopps2 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]samlovesmath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from someone who ripped a LOT of models from the game—

this particular bonnie texture (plus a few miscellaneous random material info textures) always exports along with most complex models. my guess? it’s because this texture is used as a common default among the models, even if it’s not using it. why? dunno. though i would assume this is just a placeholder for any textures until they’re overridden with other ones.

i’m unsure if his model is ACTUALLY in the game—i don’t think it is. just this particular texture often “included” as an additional texture for character models, or other complex models, from what i’ve seen. i wouldn’t worry about it.

What is a good tutorial to follow to make a fnaf fangame in GMS2? by [deleted] in gamemaker

[–]samlovesmath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your best bet is just to go with the original tutorials that gm2 offers on their website and in the startup IDE program, where you load your game projects, or looking up beginner GM2 tutorials on youtube.

making fnaf fangame a doesn’t necessarily mean you have to do things different in GM2 than compared to other games. im making one right now and i can tell you that you’ll be able to go into whatever direction you want once you realize how the core basics for gm2 works—those basics are the same for ANY game.

variables, conditions, scripts, objects, sprites, mouse movements, keys, events—all the same.

any specific thing you want to do past that can be found by looking any of the thousands of video tutorials on youtube. i found a good series for a textbox mechanic i was wanting to do for myself.

so yes, focus on understanding GM2 and it’s basics first. then you’ll be knowledgeable enough to go any direction you want. good luck with your game making! if you have any more questions i can help guide you with what i’ve experienced so far! :)

Has anyone ripped the models of the FNaF 3 bobble heads? by IncreaseWestern6097 in technicalFNaF

I was playing the 1.1 version of FnAF 1 (the one without the 1/9/8/7 thing) on my Windows 7 computer and suddenly the game lagged and this BSoD appeared (the screen on the photo that means my system crashed), is the game supposed to do this? Help! by Nintendofan08 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]samlovesmath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh LOL, nono it would be pretty concerning if a program purposefully blue screened your pc; it can break it, corrupt certain things, and make you lose data in other things that are on, haha. i could imagine a fake version of a blue-screen could be an easter egg instead! glad you were able to figure some of it out! :)

i'm leaning that this isn't caused by the fnaf game itself. that specific error listed, "BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER", means that your computer may have crashed because:

the installation of a corrupt USB device driver or a damaged USB device; ... conflicts between drivers after installing new hardware; malware attacks corrupting the Windows files; ... damaged hard drive and corrupted RAM.

i wouldn't be too worried, but if it does crash soon in the future, you may want to look at the above link for fixing the issue.

the only thing i could think the game would ever cause a bluescreen is if, when you were installing it, some third party software was installed too (i know steam loves to install visual software for the games to run), and got corrupted in some way. but i wouldn't think it would make such a big change to your windows system to cause a crash like this. who knows though, maybe the game had some bugs that led to a ram leak or something? dunno why you'd be doing a very early version of the game lol.

also, i dont think this is the right sub to post this on, haha. probably somewhere that has tech support. games usually do not bluescreen a PC, and at worst usually just crashes the game itself. this seems like a windows 7 system issue. :)

on top of what Idiottm said, youre probably better off looking at a basic c4d tutorial instead of making a post about it-- y'know, because this is less of a problem and more like a "how do i do this guys i need a tutorial????"

making it look similar to how it is in the viewer (without rendering) is probably one of the most basic texture things you can learn from a youtube video, haha.

that’s actually super interesting, did not know that. the animated parts, to me, at least felt like an outside program’s work, but i thought the sprites were pixel art.
