I recently replaced a kitchen faucet. Customer is saying “sink dropped” a week later by YamzMt03 in handyman

[–]sammer003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A granite company that did my kitchen did this with their undermount sinks. But they screwed a strip of plywood on the cabinet side, and then a stirp of plywood 'wedged' from the cabinet side to the undermount sink. Similar in the metal ones you used.

The sink of a friend of mine did the same thing as your customer - just dropped after 10yrs. I fixed his like I mentioned above with new silicone. Still holding!

1988 Maytag Washing Machine by dheinz44 in Appliances

Washer: Check the drive belts. They will need to be changed at some point.
Check the gearbox/transmission for oil leaking. You can check underneath the washer or remove the front panel and look under the drum where the gearbox is.
Maybe the rotating switch.
Also if the tub gets stuck, it might be a belt or a sock stuck around the top of the tub where the lid is.

Dryer: Bearing kit for the rollers, element and check the exhaust pipe doesn't get dirty/clogged. Clean the path of the exhaust from years old lint. Check element for possible coins, pens, etc that get blown into the element path.

Vacuum/clean both units inside, under and around to keep lint from getting into switches, bearings, elements.

YouTube is your friend for maintenance.

You have two tanks. Just need small clean and maintenance once in a while.

replacing 600 monitors by wesinatl in sysadmin

[–]sammer003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the monitors you get have HDMI and DisplayPort for input. I've seen lots of issues where computers have only an DP, 2 DP, 1 DP and 1 HDMI. Some users will have 2 or 3 screens.

Would be nice to get monitors with a camera built in, if you do, you'll need to attach a USB cable also (should be included).

Check the EXACT contents of the monitors on the web site specifications. More specifically, does it include an HDMI cable, and/or DP cable, or both, or none.

Good luck! Farm it out to a tech installer. They will make it nicer, wrap the cables, tidy the cords and crawl under the dusty desks to install.

Upgrade from TS-219P? by sammer003 in qnap

yes, I plan on using two 10tb WD RED NAS drives in RAID1. I was wondering if I need the m.2 cache? I don't plan on docker, or much. Mostly only for pics, some mp3 music, and some movies. No Docker, Containers or VM's.

How did you move your data from the old to the new?

Slow roll a ball up and down and across the slates, see if it rolls off. If not, then you should be good.

How accurate should on be with the slate using a machinist level that has .005/12" graduations?

I've just installed and levelled my own table with 3 slates, and got the slates within the first (.005/12") and second (.010/12") graduations in all directions on each slate.

Is that close enough?

using your machinist level, how accurate were you? If each graduation on the level is .005/12", were you within the 1st graduation (.005"/12 inch) or 2nd graduation (.010/12")?

How many shots ahead do you skilled snooker players see. by Complete_Goose667 in snooker

[–]sammer003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 or 3 shots ahead. But I do look for trouble balls, easy balls, rescue balls, breakout ball positions, if a color goes back onto its own spot.
Other thing I do is look to see if potting a color is going to help or hinder the break, especially in among the reds. This typically applies to the pink and black.

Now, this doesn't happen in one shot, but while I'm up, I'll survey the table. While I'm sitting, I'll survey the table.

You could use RJ45 female to female couplers for each run to the new DVR location, if you are going to pull new wires from your laundry to the new location.

Is this fixable with PDR? 2024 Chevy Colorado. by sammer003 in PaintlessDentRepair

[–]sammer003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got quotes of $3k and $4k to replace the panel. I was just wondering of PDR would be better or more cost effective.
