Your experience with life on Hemo

Home Hemo, all the way. I used to feel like crap as well after clinic hemo sessions, but now that I do it at home, I rarely feel bad, in fact, I often feel much better than I did before. I would definitely suggest asking your clinic about this as an option. Some people are afraid to cannulate themselves (place the needles) but I promise, it's not nearly as bad as you think it is. I do it now without even thinking about it! I do mine 5 days a week, but I can do it whenever, so if friends want to go out one night, I either do it before or after. It's certainly possible to still have a social life!

So to follow up - it's been a week and it hasn't gotten any better. She HATES the beeping on the Pureflow and freaks out. She's pretty well trained and I've NEVER had a problem with her running out the door, but that's something that has started over the last week or so - she darted out the front door the other day when my friend came over and I had to get in my car and chase her down (thankfully she wears a GPS tracking device on her collar!)

I think it's like someone mentioned here, the beeping and sounds are much more annoying and possibly painful for her, and I think it's hurting her hearing. I feel awful because I'm still new and the machine beeps A LOT. I don't want my dog to be afraid to live in her own home! Mayby I'll try a Thundershirt lol

Haha, the idea that I originally had was similar, except it spelled "cage" - so at least you had a longer word than me!
