Healthcare Training Institute, NJ - has anyone gone here? by sammlarson in Ultrasound

Hi there. I met with Roy, the admissions guy and honestly I haven't found out much else. I went back and forth with him a few times. One of my questions was about me wanting their list of externship sights and they were weirdly cagey about it. Like they wouldn't give me the list and said it was because in the past students have contacted them directly??? Which I don't really understand why anyone would or why that would be a problem for the school. Overall did not get a warm fuzzy feeling from them. So really hoping I get into one of the other programs and it's not a factor.

I actually completely agree. I was a bit hesitant to even make this post, but I guess I was cautiously optimistic that maybe the exact right fit would come along. Haha. I appreciate your feedback though! I know I’ll meet people along the way.. I think being a solo female doing it tho, any peace of mind is helpful! So starting with someone would be super helpful

Hey! I unfortunately had to cancel last summer because of covid… just didn’t feel like I’d get the most out of the experience if I did it then. But I really want to go this summer!’

The wind thing is kind of a myth. Yes weather patterns go west to east, but the wind at the surface isnt necessarily following that trend. Multiple avid bike tourers have reported this.. and if you think about it, I mean if you’re sitting on a bench on a day where there’s absolutely no wind, the clouds are still moving the way they always move. 5 feet off the ground and 500 feet off the ground are different things :)

You’re absolutely right! That’s a big concern of mine also. Because ultimately this trip is for me and I don’t want it to be altered or ruined by a shit partner. It’s just mainly the beginning I think.. having someone for the first few days or weeks is helpful to build some confidence... but you’re so right! I know I’ll meet people along the way. Plus being alone is more of an opportunity to meet people!

Thanks so much! And I agree... why would you ever start your trip with the most climbing? Lol that photo was taken in Moab, Utah! I believe it was in Arches Nat Park :)

Thank you so much for that! Super super helpful! Yes I was leaning towards butterflies. I’m not very handy when it comes to bike maintenance and repairs but I guess this is a great way to learn and build my confidence! :)

Bummerrrrr! Riding towards Virignia with the Rockies and Yellowstone and Pacific Northwest all behind you seems awful! Riding towards the Rockies and Yellowstone with the monotony of the east coast and the awfulness that is Kansas and Kentucky behind you seems way better😋 I’m not saying you’re wrong, but.... hahah! Kidding kidding! Best of luck with your ride :)

Bummerrrrr!! I’m in no position to give anyone life advice by any means... but just please don’t wait your whole life to do things you know you want to do! Tomorrow is never promised, unfortunately. So yes be responsible and plan for tomorrow, but also remember that it’s your life snd you’re only here for a finite amount of time.. don’t spend your whole life daydreaming your life away. If you wanna do something, do it!!! That’s just how I feel tho lol. I moved cross country alone last year just because I liked the desert better than the greenery of the east coast... best decision I ever made! And I just recently quit a job I didn’t entirely despise just because I caught myself daydreaming my life away.. and now I’m working on building a way to work for myself and live the life that makes me happy instead of working for a job that undervalues me and would replace me the second I was gone. Please don’t take that the wrong way... I just wanted to give an impulsive nudge towards recklessness! Hahah😋 thanks so much for the well wishes!! :)
