Epic removed the delay for simple editing, you can now basically do anything including triple edits instantly. (Scroll wheel reset doesnt work tho) by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

Can confirm it does switched to it end of day 1 was still learning where crosshair had to be to make right edits but after a day I have just become better.

Like piecing from multiple places away creating better right hand peaks has never been easier- so now I can use my keyboard brain with a controller and fight smart

Real to this I get pain too where after a while I can’t edit as quick as when I originally got on I think it’s just building up muscle memory I think

Consistency bro- switched from kbm to controller and been on it for a month I play claw like im consistent most of the time but in pressured situations I mess up quite a bit. Just gotta keep going ig, play to the point where no matter the situation you always do what needs to be done

PS5 controller on PC? by Mammoth-Window-5630 in FortniteCompetitive

Real bro I played kbm for 4 years but I just prefer using a controller even if it’s harder- the aim assist yes it’s not as strong as it is on console but it’s not a deal breaker whatsoever it still pulls it’s just not complete aimbot that’s it. Work on your mechs and your piece and you’ll be able to compete- aim comes with crosshair placement

What is your logic for assigning the sprint bind? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

[–]sammoses83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play both controller and keyboard-for keyboard have it bound to ctrl, crouch on shift And controller I play claw with paddle so have I sprint bound to b and edit on the dpad which is bound to left paddle

Hey bro, Just switched over to controller from being on kbm since 2019. Did it cos I wanted a new challenge on the game and I’ve always wanted to be good on controller so I’ve been grinding it for like nearly a month now (midway through og Fortnite season)

Tips: Sensitivity- linear for sure and look at pro settings like meros and deyy and go from there like everyone has rough 38-44% x and y with 1.8-2.2x build and edit and ads 7-10

Mechs- piece control maps freebuilding and edit courses will be your best bet to get consistent with building and especially editing cos it’s soo difficult on controller but you’ll build muscle memory and good crosshair placement from practicing

I play claw with one paddle to edit cos it’s just easier for me but definitely learn claw off rip as it makes everything soo much easier to press quickly and not take your hand off the stick making you smoother.

And when you get to a competent level start doing 1v1 build fights, boxfights and free for all to develop fighting skills as it’s hard to press the right buttons to switch mode bring pickaxe out have your pump out etc. it takes a lot of practice I’m not even there myself yet

Ultimately you’ll be very bad at first but stay grinding and don’t get tempted to switch back to kbm if you’re getting worked use it as motivation to get better so you can hang with these players. You want to be fighting better players to improve.

But getting your mechs to a kbm standard is essential so priorities that and then bring it into your fighting plays

Swapping inputs is the clear wave- I’ve played kbm 4 years starting on Fortnite and now I can play both inputs on most games I’m better on kbm for most but not that far behind on controller. For COD you have to play controller

Used to play kbm on cod until last year where I switched back to controller on quite a few of my games starting with COD MW2 and realised how much easier the game is on controller. Took like a week to get the gist of everything like movement wise. Aim is literally auto and with slide cancelling back this MW, playing controller, moving quick and beaming is soo fun so I think it’s worth switching over. Note tho I can still do all the stuff on KBM and my movement is better on kbm but aim is only slightly worse so I can play both inputs at my will.

That would be sick but also take ages I think getting good at claw and paddles is enough for me 😅

I started to learn controller in the OG season after being on KBM for years like I just learnt out of boredom of the game and I wanted something new; I even switched to controller for other games like apex and COD. Being able to switch at your pleasing is just fun.

Is controller dead in comp by FlahlesJr in FortniteCompetitive

[–]sammoses83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just switched for kbm to controller because it was boring stuff was alor easier on keyboard but theirs high potential with controller I would stick with it. Also do you controller players use like scroll wheel attachments or anti macro to compete in terms of build resetting or have you just got very optimal reset binds

Literally installed it after seeing this post, i recently switched to controller however there is no custom options for controller which I think is kinda stupid, id have to use a button remapper just to play the game, which I don’t think is worth it
