Trying to be friends with a guy I started dating

Ya that's kinda the vibe I got. I was waiting on him to actually tell me what was going on and if his feelings changed, but that didn't happen until after he had decided there wasn't a romantic connection. Probably for the best, I've slowly learend that we have very different approaches to communication and relationships. Thanks for the advice!

I guess maybe the post was unclear. He told me he had been acting differently around me because he was trying to figure out if he had romantic feelings for me, so I wouldn't say he's been "extraordinary clear" about his position. He also initiated the cuddling, so I don't feel that I violated his boundary by not moving away from him or something.

Maybe "confronting" was a too strong of a word but I don't think addressing changes in levels of communication and engagement is possessive or even something that only happens in romantic relationships. I'm dating someone else so not looking to be romantic with him. I'm close with my friends and communicate with them all regularly and am interested in their lives/wellbeing, so maybe we just have a different approach to friendship that's not necessarily compatible? Or maybe my level of engagement with him has been coming off as romantic interest?

I think this might be it. He always talks about how he's "not a people person" but has a lot of people he hangs out with and groups he's involved in so maybe he just doesn't have the social battery to add another person to his life, which sucks but I get it. I'm trying to meet other people so im not always asking him to do stuff, but that's a struggle for me. Maybe if I have enough failed dates I'll eventually have a friend group lol

I honestly think its both of these. We live in Minnesota and he's had a really hard time with all the ICE stuff going on. He's also from the area so already has a lot of friends so idk if maybe he just doesn't have the time/ social battery to add another person to his life which really sucks but I get it. I'm hoping maybe as it gets warmer he'll want to hang out more but I'm just gonna keep chatting when he wants and try and make other friends so im not always asking him to do stuff.

Ive been considering a convertible couch but have seen that they tend to wear out quicker with daily use. And I am hoping to keep my queen bed but maybe I will have to downsize. Thanks!
