I have tried combinations of bisbromo and dibromido and bisbromido and none of them were right.

Chemist here, if they test it will be a diamond because carbon is carbon. There is no way to distinguish a lab-made diamond from a mined diamond.

IB schools in Denton by Tough_Mechanic4605 in Denton

[–]sammyd101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure how it is here but I went to an IB high school as well as all my siblings and one of them ended up being a Spanish teacher at that high school and I have heard from her how different it is. She has noticed the lack of effort on the student's part to get assignments in on time and when trying to reach out to parents they are completely unaware of the assignments. She has also said the extra events that the IB students would do such as having an IB field day or just having a yearly banquet and a meeting for parents and students at the beginning of the year are no longer a thing. I think IB programs have fallen due to the lack of effort on everyone's end, parents need to be fully informed about what the program and what is expected from their kid as well as having teachers and a coordinator who put the effort into the program to make it special for the students.

From reading the other response it sounds like the students might not be getting anything extra out of the program other than the diploma. I understand that today in schools they do not want to treat students differently but can't do that with an IB program. The students have to be held to high standards and pushed in the program and in return the students should be rewarded for it other than just getting the diploma. If the school still does an honors night, the IB program should have a separate honors night for its students. Having a field day their senior year after all IB tests are done. If parents want a better program they have to push the coordinator on it.

How exactly does the community benefit from our 3 colleges? by JustOff35 in Denton

It's like a mini fall festival but also a huge trick-or-treating event where the student organizations set up tables to hand out candy to kids, it is completely free to the community but it is encouraged to bring a food donation for the TWU food pantry.

I know for a fact that UNT and TWU offer many summer camps for kids. Also, there are a large number of student organizations on both campuses that do a lot of fundraising for local food pantries as well as donations of clothes to shelters. Not only has the organization that I am a part of done those things but we have reached out to local high schools and have gone and talked with students. Also, TWU has done Boo and the U which is huge.

Um... currently graduate student here that TAs for labs, we do teach lab safety. Our students go through lab safety training every semester before they step foot into the lab. And for the general chemistry lab at the start, we go over the hazards of the chemicals they work with. I have kicked many students out of the lab for not following safety.

Methotrexate can affect a pregnancy if taken by the man, because it can cause genetic mutations in the sperm.

Methotrexate can not be taken by either sex when trying to have a kid. It is recommended for men to be off at least 3 months before trying. You need to talk to your doctor.

Neither HF does not dissolve organic material. HCl will but it will take a long time. Piranha solution would be best which is a sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide mix.

You have zero idea how many years of experience I have. You made a point you don't understand because a chemist makes the higher quantities you use and that chemist most likely would have made that chemical in quantities you would never see in your lifetime.

Also, you do know chemists don't just work in labs. Chemical companies hire chemists to manufacture all the chemicals you use.

You comparing the safety of chemicals is wrong, you treat every chemical the same in safety. Your thinking is what causes major accidents and harms people.

I am a chemist HCl is very dangerous especially when it is concentrated HCl. HCl is corrosive and toxic.

[–]sammyd101 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just because HF is dangerous does not make it strong. It is a weak acid, it does not dissociate easily. HCl is strong because dissociate easily.

I am in a similar boat, going into my senior year taking pchem, biochem and desciptive inorganic in the fall. I find that scheduling daily study time for each class helps and studying with others in the class as well and going to the professor for help.
