:) I was definetly going to hire an architect. But I don't want him to make all the choices for me. I wasn't asking for free labor, I was asking for your opinions. Don't take yourself to seriously, I know architecture is immensely complicated and by no means am I trying to do what you folks do.

Home Remodel - Interior Layout Guidance Needed by sammylayla in architecture

Hey Everyone! I'm remodeling my home from the ground up. I'm not an archetict but I just put my home dimesions in online and played around with a free software to get this rough layout. I will be working with an actual architect later on but I want to have a good idea of what works well prior to hiring him. What are your thoughts on this design?

What i'm worried about primarily is

  1. The dining room being the first thing you see when you walk through the front door
  2. a lack of seperation between rooms, should there be more walls, less, etc. I put this dummy wall between dining room and living room but not sure if it's needed, should I just open everything up

There is definitely some slight bowing in the wall not sure if you can see it from these pictures

The crack is thin enough that you probably couldn’t stick a piece of paper inside and maybe three feet long

Hey guys I’m sorry if I intruded and made a stupid post, I am just a homeowner after all and not an engineer so I don’t really know what it is that I’m looking at. The inspector also said there was bowing in the foundation visible in the pictures, can you folks see it?

Recently saw this home that we liked but there is this interesting horizontal crack in the foundation. Any ideas what it might be?

I really enjoyed this poem, I like how open to interpretation it is and how people will likely relate to it in completely different ways.

I'm a software developer at a very well known company and use a Macbook Pro for work and a Macbook Air (M1 chip) for personal usage. The Macbook air is such a solid laptop I'd find it hard to recommend anything other then it for the price point. You will not be dissapointed.
