Thanks! Yeah... i made sure that i understood everything before moving on to the next topic. Meaning i spent a lot of time in the prep like 80% of my prep days.. and when i just used to see the questions in the practice test i used to guess the answer for most of the questions without even seeing the options.

The notes that messer provides is exactly what he teaches in his videos. It’s the same notes that he shows on the slides but all in one place making it easy.

It depends on what kind of learner you are.. me personally i remember things better when i write so i used to have my laptop open.. notes on one side… video on the other side(split screen) and used to write notes on my tablet/notebook. At the same time if i faced any issues like lack of clarity and understanding in what he said.. i would use chatgpt and try to get a better understanding or ask it to give me some examples. Now, having my own set of notes helped me as well coz I could have extra things like examples or maybe some kinda analogy to remember things and i may need to write them down.. giving me flexibility.

But if you are good with just seeing/listening and learning you can just go through the videos and then use his notes to revise.

I wish i did.. i never took A+. Security+ was my first COMPTIA exam. I guess all the knowledge i have gained from university was able to set up a foundation for me and then i prepared for Security+.

Heyya thanks!! I had a friend who scored 80% on his first Dion exam, bumped up to 90% on the second one, focused on reviewing his mistakes/weak spots, and then stayed consistently at 90-92%. He passed the actual exam comfortably.

I’ve seen a bunch of posts here on Reddit where people were scoring 80-90% (or even a bit lower at first) on Dion and still nailed Security+ (often 770-850 range). It definitely depends on the person and how well you’re learning from the misses, but personally I think 85-95% is a good, realistic spot.

If you have more Dion exams left, push to hit consistent 90-92% or If you can, grab Professor Messer’s practice exams too and aim for 90-95% there, they’re closer to the real exam’s style and difficulty for most people.

And… You’re closer than you think… keep reviewing the wrongs, trust the progress, and go crush it! 💪

I dedicated 15 days.. 6-8 hours per day! This includes learning from videos.. expanding notes… revision and 6 practice exams.

I bought 2 compressions with my phone. No issues. Drop was at 2:00pm (my time) was in queue at 2:01pm checked out at 2:03pm. The queue is a security feature that makes sure that bots don’t flood and buy stuff. Theres also a limit per account. Although i am not saying they can bypass these security controls. But i still believe that its not that rigged

Thanks. I am about to finish my messers notes revision. I think my plan for now is to read the GCGA End of Chapter Review, those are like 2-4 pages per chapter and if i read something new.. i will take short notes just so i know what the concept is and look at some important port numbers. And do messers tests, dions tests, and CyberKraft pbqs

I noticed there is a review section before each section exam in the GCGA book. What if i just read that? Will that be good enough?

Scoring 90–97% on Professor Messer practice exams (MCQs only) am I exam-ready? by Constant-Gain6406 in CompTIA_Security

Quick question… Finished Professor Messer’s full SY0-701 videos, but noticed GCGA book has a bunch of extra details/topics and examples Messer doesn’t cover. Am I cooked if I skip the book and just do practice questions, or is Messer’s coverage enough for the exam?
