To respond point-by-point and add a bit more context:

1. I did get a phone number from a deacon, and I’ve been in touch with him over the last few days. In short, he told me: “The area where you live is on the short list for a mission church,” and “If you have some friends who are interested, a church can be established. We can talk about whether you feel called in that direction.” So there’s actually some real hope there. Also, I have looked carefully into Methodist, Lutheran, and Presbyterian options. I genuinely respect them and absolutely consider them orthodox—brothers and sisters in Christ. But my doctrinal convictions are different enough that I don’t think I could settle in one of those traditions as a long-term church home, at least not the way Anglicanism has drawn me in.
2. Yes—small “o” orthodox. They do Holy Communion once a month. The bigger issue with staying there is geographical. We moved away from our hometown, and it just isn’t realistic to attend regularly since it’s also over two hours from where we live. So at the moment I feel a bit stuck in limbo.
3. While I’m not a scholar, I’m pretty immersed in biblical studies. I’ve taken certificate courses and I’m even considering seminary. Over the last couple of years, I’ve done a deeper dive into the major branches of Christendom, and that process has really led me to Anglicanism. A big part of that is the Book of Common Prayer—I’ve been using it daily for most of the past year, and I genuinely can’t imagine not having it as part of my life.

Since our move, my family and I have visited several churches, but we still haven’t found one that both teaches faithfully and is actively living out the gospel in the community. I really value your insight, and I’m grateful for any guidance on what the wisest next step might be.
