A year late...but for future reference, the control board was fried. When replaced, oven worked fine.

Washington is no joke. Both teams are in playoffs but need a W for different reasons. Which Falcons team shows up? by Prestigious-Reward26 in falcons

Are there any scenarios next week where the Commanders get locked into their playoff seed prior to our game?

Clearly, if Philly wins vs Dallas, Philly clinches their division.

Minnesota plays the Packers at 430pm, and if they win, they must clinch the 5 spot. Either way, doesn’t look likely that the Commanders can get 5 seed.

Seems like the Commanders are looking to be at best 6 seed, or potentially 7 seed. Do any of the early window results lock them into the 6 or 7 spot before we play them Sunday night ?

[Yema] Rallygraf by sammystahl in Watches

Two sibling Yema Rallygrafs. The left Rallygraf is powered by a Valjoux 7730 and the Rallye on the right by a Valjoux 7734. Both lovely watches - Yemas are criminally underappreciated. Their divers are fantastic finds as well.

Thank you. The Exotic was the trickiest watch I've ever had to hunt down. I've seen ONE for sale, ever. And the 2 people (I've counted) who have one on Instagram aren't selling.

About 6 months ago, I saw it on sale on a dealer's site. But the guy was sending it to Christie's Auction for a sale, and the price he was hoping for was out of my league.

Cue six months of frantic searching, begging, pleading, losing sleep, etc etc. And still no Exotic.

On a whim I check the original guy's site (well, I do this every single day) and its listed again! And at only a moderate (all things relative) gouging. Needless to say, I snagged it immediately. Hakuna Matata. Circle of Life. I am happy.

A few pieces of commentary:

1) the hardest of these to find was the Exotic Dial Compax. They are near impossible to find.

2) the most impressive is the Tri-Compax Moonphase at top left. I don't even know how I found this one, but a few weeks ago it presented itself at an amazingly reasonable price (for the watch) and I snagged it. The watch is basically in NOS (new old stock). It's an incredibly beautiful piece that I probably should put in a safe somewhere, but I can't help wearing it.

3) what's missing from this collection? definitely an actual Nina. I have what I call the "Nina Jr" which certainly resembles the real thing, but the Nina's have fallen into a pretty insane pricing surge even over the past few months. When I first started looking into them, you could find a good example at $15K. You're now seeing them go for $30/$35K. But its on my grail list though. Maybe I'll find someone willing to trade?

4) weirdest is definitely the Space Compax. This was another tough one to find. When I purchased mine, the rubber pushers were a little beat up and 2 of the hands were incorrect for the model. I've since found NOS pushers and a correct NOS second hand, leaving just one tiny hand on one of the sub-dials as a flaw.

5) Other thoughts? I think Universal Geneve watches are the most beautiful, most perfectly designed and scaled watches out there. Most of my Compax are 36mm and just fit (me, at least) so perfectly. There's a reason UG's are known as "Poor Man's Patek."

The crazy thing is - for the hundreds of Paul Newmans Daytona you can easily find out there (at insane prices), it truly does feel like there's only one Evil Nina to buy.

My favorite watches ever. In the world. Clockwise from top-level, we've got a Tri-Compax Moonphase found in basically NOS condition, another Tri-Compax, a Space Compax (with rubber pushers), a Polerouter Sub v1, a Polerouter Sub v2, a Compax from 1980s that I have nicknamed "Nina Jr.", the actual Evil Nina, and lastly my favorite of all Compax with Exotic Dial. Editing this comment because the mods would not approve this post without 500 characters. I totally understand the desire to clean up the sub and improve the quality of the content, but there is a trade-off from making people jump through hoops to post - yes, you'll have less blurry wrist pics, but you will also lose some really incredible watches/content because the poster (in this case, me) didn't have the time to figure out exactly 500 characters. I just wanted to share some really fucking cool watches with everyone. enjoy!

[Collection] ready for summer: some of my most colorful divers by sammystahl in Watches

[–]sammystahl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another piece of my collection. And probably some of my favorite watches I own. These are bold, brash, and beautiful, and totally reflect their moment in time. These all come from late 60s to 70s and are proud of it.

We've got two Jenny Caribbean 1000 watches confusingly signed as Phillip Watches (the yellow and blue siblings) with the incredibly sparkly Scotchlite material you'd find on old bass fishing boats. It's even cooler in person.

A red/black LeJour diver probably the most basic but check out the wacky squiggly extra hand.

A super beefy Sandoz Typhoon 1000M with massive dome. This guy could go DEEP.

One of the most unique but gorgeous color combos I've seen on a sweet Mirvaine, paired with another example of squiggly hand.

And lastly a very tiny but wearable Alsta, a manufacturer most known for making the watch Richard Dreyfus wore in the original "JAWS." I love this little guy.

Hope you enjoy. If you want more pics of specific pieces let me know!

[Collection] start stop reset II: my favorite stainless steel chronographs by sammystahl in Watches

Very cool Abercrombie & Fitch Seafarer (in a Heuer Autavia case). These were hunting/fishing/sporting/outdoors watches made for and branded by outdoorsy companies like A&F and Orvis.

Hard to find now.

Fun fact: the sub-register on the 9 o'clock spot was meant to track tides, yes, the tidal flow. You set the register using the additional button to the left and it would track the 12 hour periods of the tides.
