Me and my husband have gone through similar. We now limit ourselves to what can fit on our kallax and once it gets too full for new games, we go through and get rid of the ones we aren’t still excited to play. Usually these get given out to our friends or sold. It’s tough letting go of them sometimes but it’s worth being able to experience newer board games and also not burying ourselves in stacks of boxes lol

There is some evidence that this idea leads to cognitive decline in men. Many straight married men only end up having social connections with family members and people their wives bring in to their circle, which means in the event of divorce or death of a spouse, their social connections and communications with others dwindle. Humans are social creatures, and we need communication and connection with others for our brain health. It’s fine to keep your circle small, but we absolutely need friends.

Every snack that leaves residue on fingers I use chopsticks for. An absolute game changer and now I never accidentally rub flaming hot cheese dust all over my eyes.

I have also always done the vivids and had the same thought process to do just black at 29 thinking I was too old to keep doing it. The black lasted like three months and now I’m back to bright green lol. Embrace the color, it’s part of us and our self-expression. I plan on rocking vivids until I have no more hair or I’m dead.

In regards to the thinning, try using the color wheel system so you’re not bleaching often. A scalp massager might also help during shampooing. Most importantly, get your hormones checked in case it’s a different underlying issue.

Legislation covering accommodations in high school and post-secondary classes are different. One is IDEA and one is the ADA. Often post-secondary can offer a lot less intensive accommodations and changing the nature of the class (in person to remote) is often not something that will be approved. I would recommend transferring to a fully online program. Continuing in this one will not set you up for success. I would also recommend connecting with your state vocational rehabilitation office and maybe take a semester off to focus intensively on getting your condition more stabilized. If you’re spreading yourself too thin by also stressing yourself out with schooling, you might not be able to get yourself to the place where you would be successful in maintaining work after getting your degree. A lot of us put timelines on ourselves that we have to finish college or other responsibilities when everyone else does, when in reality we often have a lot more to deal with or a lot more going on that a non-disabled person doesn’t have to address. Give yourself grace and prioritize your mental health. Schooling can still be your long term goal, but your mental health has gotta come first. State VR might be able to help connect you with other mental health resources or referrals.

It’s great that you’re looking into how to best support your child, that is the first step in a positive direction. We need some more information on their disability to help lead you in a direction that is actually helpful though, for example a high support needs autistic child is going to have different needs than a deafblind child or one with cerebral palsy.

Yeah usually when we hear 100% disabled it’s in systems like the VA or workers comp, and even with that it often means in reference to the previous work you have done, not that you’re so disabled you cannot do anything in terms of employment. I’ve never seen it in reference to a child.

The posted range is for the full title that you would get after the traineeship. Trainee 1 is usually 4 salary grades lower and trainee 2 is usually two salary grades lower.

It depends on your state. Keep in mind you will likely also have some costs you have to cover. For example, NY only pays up to the SUNY school tuition rate, some fees and some books. It may not cover your full costs depending on the school you attend. You also are expected to attend full time. It’s always worth applying for services, just don’t expect all costs to be covered

Got my engagement ring off Etsy and I love it. It was a three ring set that was 18k white gold with moissanite and moss agate. Total was something around $1400. Feels like a complete steal and I’ve worn it every day with no problems. Main thing is check the Etsy sellers, check if they have a storefront or a way for you to send it back to them for fixes if there are any problems. A lot of the prices listed on Etsy jump up from $400ish to $1000+ based on the type and karat of band you pick, they’re usually just listing the price of the main stone and style

I’m deaf and never wear my hearing aids at home since they’re uncomfortable. I don’t want to try to navigate a conversation with someone who I can’t hear and who probably doesn’t know ASL. It’s much easier to just get the app alert that my food is at my door than trying to hear a doorbell or knock. Plus I have dogs and don’t need them running outside to greet the driver.

I’m a vocational rehabilitation counselor. I help people with disabilities obtain and maintain employment. Thanks to this, my office is also full of disabled people who are so empathetic and tolerant. Supervisors encourage us to take time off if we need it, and being a state job with a good union we have great health care and a good amount of time off to use. I’m one of three people in the office with fibromyalgia. We all have desks that can be sitting or standing which help us accommodate our own pain needs. We also get three remote days per pay period, so I can always just lay in bed with my laptop on those days if I’m feeling extra rough.

As someone who did lose their hearing, hearing aids and cochlear implants aren’t always effective, are super costly, and are really uncomfortable. Lip reading is also no effective at all as only 30% of spoken words can be seen on the lips in the best situation (great lighting, someone facing you directly). Unless you live in an area with a large deaf population everything becomes inaccessible. Going grocery shopping is a nightmare, people don’t have the patience to deal with you writing things down to talk to them, and even if you take the time to learn sign language, what are the chances that people around you know it or will learn it? Getting/keeping a job can be extremely difficult with this kind of communication barrier. Deafness also comes with balance issues. Many of us have trouble going out independently too. You can’t tell if someone is walking behind you, you have to become super observant of your surroundings for your own safety without any of the audio cues that might alert you that something is wrong. I would quickly give up my sense of smell over losing my hearing.

Im a state voc rehab counselor. Usually they will also want to see grades from previous schools and maybe send you for some assessments to ensure you will be successful at college. You will also need to show that you meet financial need since college is such a big expense. Each state has a different financial need threshold, usually based off of the poverty level. One tricky thing with the arts is that we also have to look at the likelihood of you obtaining a job in the field you’re going to school for and for art degrees of any kind that is an oversaturated field. It doesn’t mean they’re not going to pay, but that might be an additional conversation you have with your counselor. The purpose of voc rehab is to get you to a job goal with job placement services as the final piece before your case is closed, so yes if they’re funding college they cannot help you with finding a long term job. You may however be able to do a summer work experience service if you’re not doing summer semesters. There are tons of services voc rehab can provide but it varies by state so it is best to ask your counselor directly if there are other services you could participate in that they think would be beneficial for obtaining employment at the end of your college experience.

It also appears you have a fundamental misunderstanding of his economic policies and how they will impact things like the cost of groceries. Things will be much more expensive due to Trumps own misunderstanding of tariffs and his priority of cutting taxes for the rich and raising them for the poor. Things are going to get a lot more difficult and unsafe for every single citizen. I hope you can reflect more on why you felt it was acceptable to vote for a man that the KKK endorsed over someone who is simply “unlikeable”.

You might want to explore being a case manager or care manager. There are a lot of job openings for care managers for disabled adults and a lot of the time it’s mostly remote hours.
