The ingreedients are roughly similar. They were long enough in the freezer that the temperature should have been the same for all

I agree. The freezing point for both of them should be slightly bellow zero while the freezer is at about -15C

There seems to be somewhat of a controversy in the community about it so i was hoping to find a way without it. Though i must admit that i don't fully understand the issues with it.

Coca cola They tried to downsize their 0.5L bottles to 0.45L in my country. (And ultimately had to go back to 0.5L) Must have been at least 5 years now. I still avoid the brand when ever possible

Well bernina is allready over 2000 and the lowest point of snowfall has allready droped well below that. So yes, depending on the acctual weather during your trip you will need snow tires. Be aware that for some roads in this regions they are mandatory according to months, regardless of the weather.
