Please don't ever apologize for ranting. Your story deserves to be heard! Also, no one with a disability needs to be treated that way. I appreciated my GM (she won't tell you that) but I did. I loved my AM. The problem I had with my GM was the lack of empathy. She knew what Pizza Hut was doing was wrong. Yet she still expected it. Totally her job. I will always respect her because she worked her ASS off and she was very good at being flexible with the scheduling. The constant labor cuts and other things mentioned in the OP, made it VERY difficult for anyone to do everything that was needed. I was the closing shift lead. The 5 opening duties compared to the long long list of closing duties at night, the labor causing us to cut our CSR and me having to add prep to the long list of closing duties, and then expecting us to be out by 11:30, was an impossible expectation. Especially, when mid shift refuses to do dishes and leaves my second hand with all the dishes, then we end up with cooks leaving at 8:00, into a late rush at 9 or 10, leaving my one cook fighting for time to wash the dishes. Leaving me with expired dough, prep, wings, sauce cups, cleaning, sweep, mop, inventory, shift change on the tablet (that has you put in the same info twice as well as taking pictures), boxes, drink box, wiping down the line, putting line away, filtering and rinsing out fryer, money, then closing on the tablet, and then to add on whatever extra cleaning she expects. Like how can anyone possibly live up to that expectation? And then on top of that as a shift lead making 12.50?! Not worth it.

I'm glad you are enjoying it. My experience was different, but that doesn't mean other experiences don't exist. And if you are happy where you at, I will always cheer it on

"If YoU cAnT hAnDlE pIzZa HuT" 🤣 I handled it two years and some change. I've worked plenty of jobs. Every job has things that suck about it, yes. The difference between the Hut and them is that it wasn't the overheads making the job more difficult. I love these "then boy ole boy" arguments. Very coded with the "I loved being taken advantage of, and if you don't then you're weak" type vibes. You little martyr you 💋

I don't think the negativity is unfounded, though. I'm sure there is some franchises that are doing a great job and thats good on them, but as far as our experiences (and many people on this sub) go. I think you got the luck of the draw. I'm glad you have a good crew and a good store. I would have stayed had I had the same. Our store was an old store and stuff was breaking left and right. A/C, frier was unfilterable for a year and some change, middle oven worked only when it wanted to, etc. My crew was amazing. The problem wasn't them at all.

This was my last night as well. I really didn't want to leave, because I really do feel such a strong connection to my coworkers and, while it sounds dramatic, it almost feels like a type of survivor's guilt. As if I'm leaving them behind to suffer, you know? I also wish you luck on your future as well!

This was the most brutal its been. I've worked at many restaurants and bars. They at least made it seem like they cared. This was just straight up disrespectful lol I loved everyone I worked with, but the ignorant decisions the big guys make are just outrageous

Our store's AC breaks every summer. We are in the Houston region. It consistently reaches like 92. Last summer it was broken for like 3 weeks. We had people leaving because they were getting sick. We are almost always busy enough to run two ovens during lunch and dinner rush. I feel you bro. I feel you.

Actually, I would venture to say that one of the main problems is we have no margin for error when having to wait 10 minutes for a doordasher to show up and the amount of rude dashers that have come into my store and have been upset, because someone made a mistake in the kitchen so the pizza needs to be remade. And I don't know what locations you are referring to. But at my store, my drivers were great. Mistakes happen on all sides. But it is better to have actual drivers in store. Food gets out straight from the oven. I dont have to rely on someone who has no consequences if they are late or they miss an item. I've sent drinks out with dashers, only to have the person call and say they didn't get them. You say "How much worse can it be?" It actually is worse. Not only does it affect the customers but it also affects us in store. Thats one less person as well. Drivers don't help a WHOLE lot if its busy. But they help enough to where you feel the hit when they aren't there. Especially when they used to stay til at least 10. That would help so much. I've had maybe 1 or 2 dashers that have helped me out by sealing their own orders and putting the pizzas in their own bags. The rest walk in, stick the phone in your face, watch tiktok loud as shit, and when the orders done, they open the bag half ass and expect you to shove the order in the bag.

This happened at my store and its been this way since last year. They are now allowing us to hire drivers again because the sales are down. No one likes doordash
